PSP News from N4G | Army of Two: The 40th Day
PSP - Army of Two: The 40th Day - Army Of Two Producer: Retailers Hate Sony Army Of Two: The 40th Day Producer, Matte Turner, in a recent interview with PLAY magazine, reckons that retailers must "hate them", after the recent release of its download-only PSPgo.

Turner also reckons the whole "download only thing is very cool", pointing to the fact that the end of discs is potentially far closer than we think, he goes on "It's all going that way and Sony is going that way early. I'm sure [retailers aren't] very impressed, but I think it's cool and we'll see how it does".

PSP News from N4G | Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
PSP - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - Retailers move Silent Hill: Shattered Memories release date again Joystiq: Konami has yet to offer an official release date for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and the unofficial release dates keep shifting identities like some kind of haunted village. After Nintendo dated the game on its release schedule, we thought we could safely expect the game in November, but retailers have changed their dates once again.

GameStop now expects to have Shattered Memories in stock on December 8. GameFly, whose dates tend to differ from official ones by a few days, lists the Wii game as being available November 26, but the PS2 and PSP versions on December 31. Wal-Mart's dates put the Wii version at November 24 and the PlayStation games on Christmas Day (which is probably not the real ship date, on account of there not being any mail delivery that day).

Basically, the game is coming out later. It's not in stores right this second. That's all we can say with any degree of certainty.

So 3, 2, 1, START!

Half-Minute Hero is NOT the title of a porno with a very small budget. It actually had a modest budget and most characters stayed clothed."

PSP News from N4G | God of War: Chains of Olympus
PSP - God of War: Chains of Olympus - Ready At Dawn declares war with new engine Develop Writes: Developer 'tired of PC engines shoe-horned into consoles'.

Californian developer Ready At Dawn has attacked the current state of console game engines for being too PC-centric and scattered with middleware components.

The God of War: Chains of Olympus developer made criticisms as it announced its own newly-available alternative, the Ready At Dawn Engine.
"We are building something for developers who are tired of the challenges of PC engines shoe-horned into consoles, or trying to stitch together layers upon layers of middleware from multiple vendors," said company president Didier Malenfant, though without naming names.

"Our solution will be a complete game development platform that simply works," he said.

The Ready At Dawn Engine is said to be a wholly console-centric platform, integrated with a suite of third-party tools that require no additional licence. These tools include 3D content editing, audio, user interface and asset management systems.
