PSP - Puzzle Guzzle - New PSP demos on US Store Eurogamer reports that Sony has popped two new PSP demos onto its American PC Store.

The first is for Puzzle Guzzle, which has you making diagonal shapes on a square board while an opponent tries to make your life more difficult; "your brain tears the box to shreds" apparently, and that sounds like super powers.

The other is a sampler for Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, a game based on the US cartoon where superheroes and characters from 1960s Hanna-Barbera shows tackle court cases.

PSP - Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - GDC '08: Puzzle Quest was deemed too risky Just like the Beatles, Puzzle Quest was turned down many times before D3 Publisher took the game on, Infinite Interactive CEO Steve Fawkner told the audience at his Game Developers Conference session.

Fawkner said that the pitching process was incredibly frustrating, which he illustrated with a cartoon. He said, "because it was deemed an 'innovative product,' it was difficult to sell the idea. We had one publisher who said they loved it, but they wouldn't publish it because they had no idea how many copies it would sell." A while later, the same publisher asked for more copies of the game, and Fawkner presumed this was because it had changed its mind on publishing the title. "They said 'no'," he laughed. "They just wanted more copies because everyone was playing it in the lunchtime in their office."

PSP - Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - More Puzzle Quest On The Way D3Publisher of America has confirmed that a second entry in the ultra-addictive Puzzle Quest franchise is due this year. No further details on the title are available, though company also revealed it will be publishing a Shaun the Sheep video game and another Ben 10 title.

Released last year, the Infinite Interactive-developed Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords took the gaming community by storm with its addictive combination of color-matching combat and RPG-style quests. The initial Nintendo DS and PSP editions were followed by PC, PlayStation 2, and Wii iterations along with an Xbox 360 release via the online Xbox Live Arcade.

The categories were largely swept by Infinite Interactive's Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, which earned Best Game, Best Console Title, Best PC Title, Best Handheld Title and Best Gameplay.

PSP - Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - D3 Buys Puzzle Quest Developer Puzzle Quest was a surprise hit for publisher D3. Likely tuning into that, D3Publisher of America has decided to purchase Vicious Cycle, the developer behind the PSP SKU of Puzzle Quest.

Vicious Cycle is the first developer acquisition by D3. In addition to Puzzle Quest, Vicious Cycle has a number of games in the works, including PSP exclusive Dead Head Fred. Previously they've developed such titles as the licensed game Flushed Away and Marvel Trading Card Game.
