PSP - NBA Live 07 - Could EA buy 2k Sports? Electronic Arts would be wise to buy 2K Sports, or so says industry analyst Michael Pachter for Wedbush Morgan Securities. The suggestion came amid the move from Wedbush downgrading Take-Two Interactive's stock from "hold" to "sell" Friday. Take-Two Interactive owns 2K Sports as a subsiderary.

"It is clear to us that Take-Two's sports business would have tremendous value to EA, as it would give EA a monopoly on football, basketball, baseball, and hockey," Pachter said. His analysis concluded that EA might purchase 2K Sports for as much as $200 million dollars, but he noted, "It is arguable that EA would benefit by as much as $1 billion if it were to obtain an exclusive; this does not mean that it is willing to pay $1 billion."

PSP News from N4G | NBA Live 08
PSP - NBA Live 08 - Halo 3 remains top selling game in US; Xbox 360 sales still rising VGChartz has just uploaded the new hard- and software sales for the week of September 30 - October 6. Not suprisingly, Halo 3 remains the top selling game in the US with an additional 562.000 copies in its second week, which brings its total to almost 3.2 million. Nintendo DS's biggest title of the year thus far, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, debuted on second place with almost 350.000 copies. Also, NBA 2K8 on the Xbox 360 outsold NBA Live 08 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 2 with a debut of 116.000, compared to NBA Live's 102.000 on the Xbox 360. Microsofts exclusive title Project Gotham Racing 4 debuted with just 90.000 copies in its first week.

On the hardware side, the Halo 3 effect seems to still effect the Xbox 360 hardware sales as Xbox 360 hardware numbers jumped another 6% to almost 130.000. Nintendo DS was still the top selling hardware this week, despite a 5% decline to 135.000 copies. Nintendo Wii sales dropped 2% to 95.000 as Playstation 3 numbers remained at the same level with almost 30.000 units. Check out all this weeks numbers after the jump.

PSP - NBA Live 08 - Portable Domination P.J. Snavely: NBA '08 for the PSP is our fourth iteration of basketball on the handheld platform. Over the past three versions, we've always tried to be on the leading edge of combining simulation NBA basketball with some new and innovative ideas in the genre ¿ things that would be fun and different to play. Personally, I find it very frustrating when developers bring an identical version of a sports game to the PSP, so we've gone out of our way to ensure that NBA '08 is significantly different than its PS2/PS3 brethren.

PSP - NBA Live 10 - NBA Live Producer promises Live to be ballin' For a very long time now, fans have expressed their distaste and disconcern for the NBA Live franchise. Everyone will have their own opinion as to when the series started falling off, with some even going to the extremes of saying it was never good to begin with. Whatever side of the ball you're on, you'll probably be interested to know that EA Producer Sean O'Brien shares your pain. It's rare for any developer to flatout admit that their games haven't been good, but conversely, it's rare for a developer to say they won't improve, either.
