If you never see the point of buying every yearly update of EA's sports titles, EA's about to give you one: from September 1 it will begin shutting down the online servers for most of its 2006-edition sports titles.
As of that date, the online gameplay options on games like FIFA World Cup 2006, NBA Live 06, Madden 06 and Tiger Woods 06 will be rendered useless on all formats including PC.
This means you'll have to purchase the newer editions of the games to continue the fight via the web, or
EA has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming racer, Need For Speed: Pro Street. And this one's all about the smoke effects.
There's not that long to go now until the launch of EA's new Need For Speed title; it's out around October. This time round the focus is on realism, but it's not really going after the likes of GT or Forza.
"We're definitely not looking to make a simulation. I think 'simulation' is a bit of a dirty word," producer John Doyle recently told us.

You know what's always been missing from Need For Speed? Smoke. Lots and lots of smoke. Fortunately, that's just what we're treated to in this fresh footage from NFS Pro Street, the semi-reinvention of the flashy racing series.
We have to say we like what we see. Regular videogame smoke/steam/mist can be so, well, wispy - but this is top-grade billowing clouds of the stuff, like the spouting steam of a red-hot kettle trapped at boiling point or a smoldering tire wedged in a roasting

Conflict: Denied Ops (PC)
The PC version is by far the best of the three from the recent hands-on we had with the game. A co-op shooter that allows you to switch between characters at the push of a button, this works well online or off. It's a tad generic, but there are some nice moments in here. Worth a look for shooter fans.

Just because it's E3, it doesn't mean you have to leave your sense of style at home. But many do. And over the next three days we'll be sneakily snapping, posting and ridiculing the worst stylistic offenders, mostly for our own amusement.
Walking round like an advertising billboard is not a good look. Wearing fifteen lanyards at once does not make you look important, it makes you look like a cock. Look at the company bosses. What are they wearing? A LocoRoco rucksack, a

Yep, there's games. And quite a few of them. But man cannot live by gaming alone and GamesRadar was hoping this year to grab a few eyefuls of the expected swim suited booth babes at this years show. But there aren't any.
This year, it's all about grey businessmen and sensible looking developer types in the obligatory uniform of chinos and cell phone holsters. Not to be deterred from the (franky pathetic) charge of a cheap thrill, GamesRadar is right now stalking the show,

Ever been ogling a hottie only to discover she or he isn't the 'she' or 'he' you first thought? It's OK, don't be embarrassed, you're not turning gay (or straight, depending) - some characters just aren't easily sexed. No, we don't mean the naughty business - we mean telling whether they're a boy or a girl.
We've compiled a list of the most unisex-looking characters around and pose the question: Can you tell if they've got an 'inny' or an 'outy'? Erm... so to

Unlockable extras, new characters or invincibility and hidden areas – little tricks that can give you the edge over your mates and hidden gems that bring a special kind of joy to every gamer when
Screenshots are static images used to show off a game in the best possible way. Or at least that's the general idea. Normally, promotional pics are veritable works of art, carefully composed to ensure that they catch the eye with a certain degree of impact. Sometimes, however, we receive shots so dull that the only thing they could possibly sell is ditchwater.
Here for your utter tedium, then, are 30 of the most boring screenshots that have ever been captured. Note that these are all official
