Rockstar's Manhunt 2 could release in the UK, but as a digital download, it's emerged.

Sony said Thursday that quarterly operating losses for its games unit had more than doubled, but that it hoped the division would break even or better in the second half of the financial year.
The Japanese electronics giant posted a gaming unit operating loss of 96.7 billion yen ($847.6 million) for the quarter ended in September, down 53.2 billion yen year-on-year, which it attributed largely to the price point of its PlayStation 3 console.

Atari founder Nolan Bushnell has described Halo 3 as "Doom 1 in different clothing" in a rant about lack of innovation in videogames.
"What I have consistently been concerned about is sort of the repetition and the lack of innovation... as much as I applaud the beautiful, fantastic production guys of Halo 3, it's really Doom 1 in different clothing. Ever wanted to be evil? Really evil? Well, then you're mostly out of luck. Videogames are awash with brooding anti-heroes who are gruff and mean but ultimately good, but genuine villains in the lead role are pretty rare. For that matter, the few games with villainous leads tend to defuse them by pitting them exclusively against people who are even worse than they are (Manhunt, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent), or by playing up the whole "evil" angle for laughs (Overlord, Disgaea).

We're still waiting to discover if the BBFC will ever allow Manhunt 2 to be released in the UK, but our lucky (or unlucky?) American bretheren can indulge in Rockstar's murderous romp this Halloween. Which is why this new trailer is doing the rounds.
Feeling ill yet? No doubt Rockstar is working on a way to release Manhunt 2 in Europe, but until it announces its plans, or the BBFC relents in its refusal to offer a certificate, we'll all just have to watch on with interest as

Apparently Rockstar were among a number of game companies that werent happy with the way The Simpsons Game, out for 360, Wii, PS2, DS 2 November, was parodying their creations and wanted somethings removed from the final code.
