We sort of thought the Guinness Book of World Records was a collection of definite, measurable achievements. Like, that's pretty much everything it represents... or not - the latest edition of the Guinness Gamers' Edition contains a list of the top 50 game series, not by total sales or anything factual like that, but as determined by a poll. It's horrific.

Were we to make a list of announcements that dropped our jaws in astonishment, yesterday’s news of Bungie teaming up with Activision would be near the top. That probably the number one free agent in game development decided to publish their next major franchise with the biggest third-party publisher there is makes sense on paper, but after all the shit with Infinity Ward, we are still dumbstruck.
But now that the hugeness of the announcement has set in, some things need to be made clear, as many smaller details of the deal got missed initially and only now have become clear via interviews and other news. Here’s what you should know...
As part of its Tokyo Game Show presence Sony has produced a set of new screens for all of its forthcoming titles.
A demo version of the quirky-looking puzzle game, Puzzle Guzzle, for PSP is available to download via the PSN Store for PC.In Puzzle Guzzle, you have to complete diagonal shapes on a squared board, "which would be easy if you weren't facing off against an opponent throwing different attack moves that make you think in even more peculiar ways," explains the Store. The demo's a tiny 11MB download, while the full game is set to release later this

It's a bit early to start proclaiming that "Microsoft wins Japan!" or the like (though that was our knee-jerk headline of choice) but we're still gobsmacked at the news that Halo 3 has taken first place in last week's Japanese sales charts, beating a Pokemon DS game into the bargain.
Bungie's 360-powered threequel managed to shift 59,000 copies in Japan, four thousand more than Pokemon's Mysterious Dungeon: Toki on Nintendo DS. And this in a land where FPS games traditionally fail

Beowulf: The Film will be out in November, and will be sharing a publicity budget with a Game of the same name. The film is produced by Robert Zemeckis (this isnt the last Zemeckis reference in this weeks Trailer Trash - youve been warned), and features an all star cast including Angelina Jolie, John Malkovitch, Anthony Hopkins, Crispin Glover, and others. This trailer for the game, however, stars a sword falling into a puddle over and over while some repetitive-looking
