This morning, we were floored when a new trailer circulating the internets revealed that creatures from Monster Hunter are going to appear in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. As you can see in the video below, the crossover (which brings together two of the PSP's strongest series) will enable Naked Snake and his crew to travel to a secret island off the coast of Costa Rica (yes, just like Jurassic Park) and test their skills against creatures like Velocipreys and massive Tigrexes.
What was even more surprising is that the Monster Hunter news was only the beginning...
Monster Hunter Tri and Resident Evil 5 have helped Capcom's profits rise 58.4 per cent to JPY 2.9 billion. For the six months ended September 30, sales were up 24.5 per cent, to JPY 38.8 billion, with over a million Monster Hunter Tri sales, and the continued strong performance of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for the PSP.

Japanese publisher Capcom is set to ramp up promotion for its Monster Hunter series in Europe, in an attempt to ape the success of the series in the East. The producer of the PSP Monster Hunter titles, which outsold Wii Fit and Pokémon Diamond in Japan last year, has told MCV that Capcom will focus on promoting the brand before the next title is released in the PAL territories.
According to Capcom, pre-orders for Monster Hunter Portable 2nd (as the franchise is known in Japan) have already surpassed the 400,000 mark, making the dragon-slaying RPG sequel the most successful PSP game prior to release in Japan.
