Though it may not see the same reception as it does in Japan, the franchise has developed a pretty large fanbase here in the states. Featuring simple mission-based gameplay, coupled with a deep weapons and armors system, the Monster Hunter games are great, long lasting adventure RPGs. With Monster Hunter Freedom Unite's recent release on the PSP and Monster Hunter 3 soon seeing release on the Wii, now is a great time to jump on this highly-acclaimed series.

Yesterday, at the MCM Expo in London, Capcom revealed a grand plan for the forthcoming Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and the existing line of Monster Hunter titles. With an incredibly casual demonstration of the four-player hunts available in the new PlayStation Portable (PSP) release, Capcom subtly delivered the news of a more permanent space.

Needless to say, the PSP games did a lot better. People keep saying that the PSP revival in Japan is largely due to the Monster Hunter Portable (MHP) series but it's also true if you think the other way around, something MHP producer Ryozo Tsujimoto also mentioned before.
With the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Capcom's Colin Ferris stated that the latest game in the hot-selling Monster Hunter franchise will be "the best game you'll ever play on the PSP."
Japanese publisher Capcom is set to ramp up promotion for its Monster Hunter series in Europe, in an attempt to ape the success of the series in the East.
Capcom have today confirmed that Japanese multi-platinum selling Monster Hunter Portable 2G will be coming to European gamers as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Since its release in Japan earlier this year, the game has shipped over 2.4 million copies, making it one of the most successful games on the PlayStation Portable. To date the Monster Hunter series has sold over 7.8 million units worldwide. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is scheduled for release across PAL territories this coming spring.

Latest news states that Capcom, one of the major gaming companies, has sponsored an expedition to Guyana to hunt down two deadly creatures. Among the kill list for the expedition is the South American "Bigfoot" and a 40 foot Anaconda.
