1UP writes: "I've been telling this to everyone who interviews me lately," said Hideo Kojima in an intervew in this week's Famitsu magazine, "but I think there are three games that stand out above the rest of the pack in the remainder of this year. One is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, one is Uncharted 2, and the third is Assassin's Creed II. Those three are just incredible."

That's high praise from a figure some would call the most talented game designer working out of Japan right now, and Assassin creative director Patrice Désilets is more than a little appreciative. It looks like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has jumped on the "unclothing characters" bandwagon. During the 2D cutscenes, you have the ability to see through a character's clothing, right down to their underwear.

In an open letter to fans, MGS designer Hideo Kojima says that Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will be a "full-featured" sequel that will be so full of content it will "require hundreds of hours to complete."

"The main team from MGS4 is participating in the development of this title and I am involved in all aspects of the game, ranging from design, direction and scenario writing," Kojima writes in the latest issue of Konami's internal magazine On Screen, which is being handed out at Gamescom this week.

Peace Walker will be set in the Costa Rica of the 1970s, ten years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3. The story will have Snake and his crew questioning their purpose as they battle to defend a nation without a military from foreign invasion, Kojima writes.

The developer also says that the game will be a graphically beautiful title.

Hideo Kojima has explained that he will not be directing development of Metal Gear Solid Rising, but will instead concentrate on the newly announced PSP game.

This year's E3 conference brought the announcement of two Metal Gear Solid games; Metal Gear Solid Rising, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The former will star Raiden as its main protagonist and is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (as confirmed by Famitsu magazine) and the latter will star Snake and is in development for the PSP.

The series' creator, Hideo Kojima, has explained in a Famitsu interview that he's actually only fully involved with the PSP game.
