Home Entertainment Group has announced a worldwide license agreement for TT Games Publishing to continue developing the highly successful LEGO based videogames across multiple platforms. Operating as part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a division of WBHEG, TT Games is the publisher and developer behind the award-winning hit LEGO videogame franchises including, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Batman: The Videogame and LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, which have sold close to 50 million units worldwide.

Interactive Entertainment today announced that LEGO Batman: The Videogame has sold through more than one million copies across all formats in the UK, since launch in 2008, and continues to be a top-seller week-over-week on the UK charts. Rockstar and Media Molecule will be contesting for the most category nominations. Rockstar snags six of them with GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned from Rockstar while Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet alone is nominated for another five.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are pleased to announce that LEGO Batman: The Videogame has won a prestigious Children's BAFTA Award for Best Videogame 2008.

Developer TT Games was snapped up by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in 2007 and has since had a hugely successful 2008 seeing the release of LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Batman: The Videogame.

Play LEGO Batman (PS3) via PSP Remote Play (News)

PSLS reports that LEGO Batman: The Video Game for PS3 is playable via PSP remote play. Even if you don't have the Blu-ray/retail version of the game, the PS3 LEGO Batman demo (available on the PSN for a few weeks) supports remote play, too!

Hopefully more developers will embrace remote play as they get better at programming the PS3 architecture and free up more memory.

An excerpt from the latest issue of NGamer, an interview with Traveller's Tales' Arthur Parsons:

"NGamer: Do you see the wider DC universe making it into Lego form? The Justice League could be good.

Arthur Parsons: Whether any more of the DC universe makes the transition into Lego depends largely on the success of Lego Batman, and on whether Traveller's Tales, Warner Bros. and Lego want to make any other characters into Lego games. I'd love to make a sequel to Lego Batman because it was immense fun to work on."

According to Gamertell, the latest McDonald's Happy Meal toy promotion is for the Lego Batman videogame.

There are eight toys in the set - four vehicles and four characters - and each toy has a videogame cheat code stamped on the bottom.

The cheat codes unlock playable in-game characters (the article offers two codes) in any version of Lego Batman: The Videogame.

We told you about the LEGO Batman series earlier this month and it appears that they are now officially available. Check the picture I snapped above to see what you can score yourself when you pretend that you're buying a Happy Meal for your imaginary child.

The villain ranks for the Lego Batman game due out later this year continues to swell. Last month 1UP reported on the inclusion of Bane, Clayface, and Nightwing. This month 1UP only has one, but it's a wild one, literally. Man-Bat will be bringing his genetically mashed up bat powers to the bad guys side. Like many villains, Man-Bat is the product of good intentions gone wrong. Dr. Kirk Langstrom in an attempt to cure his deafness creates a serum using bat DNA. While it successfully granted him bat-like sonar, it also turned him into a man-sized bat. He gained wings, allowing him to fly, and superhuman strength, but like a bat lost much of his ability to see in daylight.
