PSP - PSP - Confessions of a Game Store Clerk - Part Three GamesRadar: Let's discuss a more specific kind of customer: the fanboy. Who are the most obnoxious? #5: I hate to stereotype, but Xbox fanboys are the worst. They've got this weird obsession with getting Linux on their consoles, but then never use Linux as their actual desktop at home; it's always Windows. I work in computers for a living now, so this kind of thing continually annoys me. #1: Along with the "my games look and sound better than yours" mentality, the Xbox / Xbox 360 fanboys also ...

PSP - PSP - Confessions of a Game Store Clerk - Part Two GamesRadar: Now let's talk about some of the personalities you interact with... starting with coworkers. What kind of conversations do you guys have? #1: Too many to count.... a few standouts are Star Trek vs. Star Wars, best-looking chicks in a videogame and who would win in a fight... "fictional character #1" or "fictional character #2"? #6: Yeah, Star Wars... whether or not Darth Maul was badass. Just to play devil's advocate, I had to throw Jar Jar into the mix. "Dude, Darth Maul's so ...

PSP - PSP - Confessions of a Game Store Clerk - Part One GamesRadar: Starting from the beginning... what made you want to work at a videogame store in the first place? Employee #1: Who wouldn't want to spend their days hanging out with friends, talking about videogames and getting paid to do it? Employee #2: I thought it would be fun. I thought I knew enough about games that I could be informative when customers had questions about them... Employee #3: I wasn't really looking for a job in gaming, but since I bought a lot of games, I figured it ...

7. The Typing of the Dead 2001 - Dreamcast, PC 1999's The House of the Dead 2 was one of the finest lightgun shooters ever conceived - fast, gory and filled with awesome-looking zombies and monsters to blow apart. We don't know who originally thought it would be a good idea to turn that into a semi-educational game where you type words and phrases to kill zombies, but whoever they are, they deserve a damn medal. The Typing of the Dead is number seven on this list for a reason. While the rest ...

The era of the GameCube, Xbox and the PlayStation 2 has arrived at its end. Sure, a few great titles will squeak out for the PS2 - but the other two are total goners, and the days of big-budget hits - and innovative games - are far behind all three of them. The PC, meanwhile, is entering into a new era thanks to the advent of Windows Vista and the game-powering DirectX 10 that comes bundled with it. Obviously, the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii have established themselves. It's time to move ...

PSP Feature | Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Ever since the release of 2001's groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto III, there've been seemingly hundreds of games that shamelessly rip off its free-roaming, carjacking open-world formula. But as hard as the pretenders try, there's still only one ...

Wednesday 27 March 2007 As animal loving human beings we find the emotional rewards of platonic interspecies relationships hugely beneficial to our well being. The black clouds of a bad day can quickly give way to happy face sunshine at the sight of a pet irrationally overjoyed to see that we've made it home alive. Of course, man and beast also share an attachment in many videogames, although the foundation of the companionship is usually built on something far more interesting than our own ...

PSP Feature | Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
The funny thing about inventing a genre of videogames is that, until it becomes completely played out, every game that emulates your formula is going to be attached to your name. Games that feature a wide-open, freely explorable world, for example, will have a hard time avoiding the label of "Grand Theft Auto clone," especially if their worlds are littered with vehicles to steal and drive. In the six years since Grand Theft Auto III, a slew of games have tried to become "the next GTA," but so ...

We cant deny that, despite being unfeeling binary illusions, video game chicks are hot. Wed delve into the deep psychological curiosities that make these digital fantasies so appealing to libidinous male gamers, but its more fun to just show you how the hormone-infused gaming community has sexed up some of the most popular games ever. Whether the developers intentionally created the titillating features, or they were modded by pubescent hackers, theyre hot (if a bit misogynistic and creepy), ...

PSP Feature | Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
The official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV is only a few days away as of this writing, and publisher Rockstar has promised that it won't just be some infuriatingly quick teaser. Instead, it'll offer up the first substantial look into what the game is all about, and internet speculation over what that might be has kicked the rumor mill into high gear. We've got our own theories on what the game might be like, ranging from a futuristic dystopia with flying cars to a college-crime romp ...
