Nine mini-games you've never seen

Games within games: dumbassed, unappreciated or just plain obscure

MotoGP 2: URT (Xbox/PC, 2003)
The MotoGP series (not to be confused with the inferior PS2 games) used to harbour a secret silly side, before it jettisoned its quirkier indulgences in later games. Sexy visual filters, bonkers credit sequences and a pile of hidden mini-games, the most striking of which is Credits Shooter.

Bear with us here. The first stage of Credits Shooter is a simple 2D shooter, staged on a rectangular playing field. The second stage takes place on a circular map. The third, however... it superimposes both previous stages, and you play them at the same time.

Then things go somewhat mental, as you play the same shooter across multiple, overlapping geometric planes, the kind of headfuzz that would’ve been lapped up if it had cropped up as a bonus in, say, Half-Life 2. We’ll let the footage take over from here.
