Silent Hill Origins

This PSP prequel, now due out in the autumn, follows truck driver Travis O’Grady who stumbles upon the town while on a routine delivery. The town brings to life bad memories from his past, and the developers promise it’ll be more like Silent Hill 2 than other games in the series.

So what does the future hold for the SH series? Obviously the disturbing visuals will be more eerie and atmospheric than ever, but we’re more interested in where the plot’s going. If the SH4 theory that the town’s evil is spreading rings true, perhaps it’ll be set in yet another town? Hopefully not. We want to return to the foggy streets of Silent Hill. Akira Yamaoka, producer and composer at Team Silent, has hinted at a return to SH2’s psychological routes, and an interest in creating a “sunny environment gone wrong.”
