Big movie tie-ins for 2008

What Hollywood blockbusters will be getting the game treatment?

Words: Matt Cundy, GamesRadar UK

Iron Man | May 2008

What's it all about?
Metal. Directed by Jon Favreau (previous credits include Zathura and Elf) and based on the Marvel Comics superhero, the movie follows the story of multi-millionaire weapon inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr). Injured and kidnapped - by bloody terrorists - Stark gets busy A-Team style in captivity and constructs himself an almighty ass-kicking suit of power armour. He breaks free, returns home and has a fight with the poorly named Iron Monger (Jeff Bridges). Get heavy and watch the Iron Man trailer here.

Is it getting gamed-up?
Bet your shiny metal ass it is. Sega picked up the rights a while ago and the game is currently being developed by Secret Level, the people responsible for the rather flawed Xbox title, America's Army: Rise of a Soldier.

Should you be excited?
By all means get quivery at the thought of playing a metal-suited man that can fly, because it could be absolutely brilliant. But how many airborne superhero games can you remember playing that don't end up hitting the fan? Exactly. We'll be optimistic until proven otherwise, but the rather barren-looking environments in the early screenshots aren't exactly making us pee our pants.
