New screens materialize for DJ and Pandora's second misadventure

After unleashing the horrors of Pandora's Box and nearly getting grounded in Death, Jr., you'd think DJ and his stunted friends would have learned to leave ancient forces of evil the hell alone. You'd be wrong, though; in Death, Jr. 2: Root of Evil, they've apparently awakened a whole new menace. When the game hits this fall, they'll once again have to shoot, jump and slash their way through the freakish armies of the night.

We say "they" because this time around, DJ is joined by his friend Pandora. As you can see in the new screens we've snagged, the creepy little goth girl will play a lot like DJ, except that she carries a whip instead of a scythe. She'll also make it possible for a second player to jump in with an ad-hoc connection for some cooperative monster-blasting.

From what little we've seen so far, it already looks like an improvement over last year's so-so Death, Jr. That's the promise that's on the table from the developers, too. We look forward to finding out more soon.
