The PSP has seen a number of revisions over the course of its existance, and the PSPgo is the latest evolution of the system that's hitting retail in less than two weeks. With the system's launch right around the corner, Sony sent IGN a small note that detailed a few pieces of juicy information that PSP fans might find interesting.

WorthPlaying contacted SCEA to find out if it planned to match the PSPgo Rewards program announced by SCEE this morning and was told that Sony had no plans at this time to match the European offer.

"There hasn't been any announcement yet that there will be an equivalent rewards program for North America..."

Developer Ready at Dawn, responsible for two of the PSP's biggest titles of recent years, has reiterated that it has no intention of developing for Sony's handheld any longer.

"With Chains of Olympus going gold in Japan, we're now officially done with PSP development," the Irvine, California-based studio said in a post on its website.

Soon after they hit a homerun with a portable version of the hit PS2 console platformer, Ready at Dawn moved on and developed the recently released and major hit God of War: Chains of Olympus. Well, we are about to bid farewell to one of the greatest handheld developers of the modern era. Today, Ready at Dawn revealed that they have finished the Japanese version of God of War and thus ending their PSP development for good. They have sent back their devkits to Sony and look forward to the future, where they are certain to shine bright.

Sony's redesigned handheld debuts today exclusively with Ready at Dawn's platformer; stand-alone package arrives later this month, limited-edition Star Wars pack in October.

And the thing that makes Daxter so awesome, the thing that sets it apart from other, similar PSP games, is that it succeeds in capturing much of what made the Jak games so great while simultaneously being perfectly tailored for the PSP.
