How on Earth did it take us until now to realize that Crazy Taxis arcade-style speediferous driving provided the entire blueprint for the mega-successful Burnout series? Sure, Burnout dumped the idea of schlepping customers to and fro and replaced it with metal-shearing crashes, but the whole idea of screaming down the highway, coming as close as you possibly can to the other cars on the road without actually hitting them? Pure Crazy Taxi.

Of course, thats about all there is to ...
Months before the 2007 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony Computer Entertainment of America flew a small army of journalists down to its headquarters in San Diego for its Gamer's Day, a pre-E3 sneak peek at games set to arrive on its PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP platforms. Featuring dozens of games from Sony and third-party publishers, several of which were unveiled and/or made playable for the first time, the event was a staggering look at a swarm ...
For all you gaming addicts looking for a fix, check out these treats:

Opoona - Wii

A very unusual little game for the Wii that combines community and relationship-building elements with a traditional RPG - a bit like, say, Animal Crossing but with a proper adventure to work through. Even better is the way it uses the Wiis Remote and Nunchuck, allowing you to move with the analog stick and battle by swinging the remote.

Crazi Taxi: Fare Wars - PSP

We reckon this is just about old enough now ...
We have to say, its almost physically impossible to dislike Crazy Taxi. How can anyone not enjoy a game that lets you drive a yellow cab insanely fast, fly off ramps and smash through anything that gets in your way all in the name of ferrying your terrified passengers to their destinations on time so you get paid? If this is the kind of death-defying stuff taxi drivers go through every day, its no wonder their cabs smell quite so ...
Crazy Taxi, originally an arcade hit, was one of our favorite games on the Dreamcast, and Sega hopes to miniaturize the madness in Crazy Taxi Fare Wars on PSP.

These new images show the nutty yellow cab drivers causing all sorts of trouble in what looks like San Francisco, with the steep hills and trollys the city is known for.

Anyone who has played Crazy Taxi will know how insanely fast the game is, as you rush around to pick up passengers and deliver them to their destinations, pointed out ...
In the days before Grand Theft Auto III, there was nothing quite like Crazy Taxi. A sunny, high-energy arcade adrenaline rush, it was superficially centered around picking up fares in a big, open city and rushing them to their destinations before the timer ran out. However, those who played it for more than five seconds soon realized what Crazy Taxi was really about: bombing down gigantic hills at top speed while The Offspring and Bad Religion roared over the soundtrack.

It was a lot of fun ...
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars has been announced for PSP, bringing a welcome burst of blue-sky arcade gaming to the handheld.

This version of Sega's classic score-attack taxi game will feature both cities from the Dreamcast original plus the Small Apple city from Crazy Taxi 2. There will also be multiplayer options for the first time in the series, including co-op play and versus which will allow you to steal fares from your rivals by bumping into them.
