EA has had its hands slapped over a recent Burnout Dominator (PS2, PSP) ad that appeared on the London Underground thanks to the creative slogan "Inner peace through outer violence." That and an image of a crumpled car.

The BBC reports that the Advertising Standards Authority ordered the London Tube poster not to be used after receiving 37 complaints.

EA is reported to have said that the poster was obviously for a videogame and that the ad would not be seen to support actual violence.

The word "free" makes any deal a good deal, so when EA throws two new courses for Burnout Dominator on the 'net for you to download for free, you really can't complain.

Carnival Point is one of the new courses, available to download now directly to your PSP memory card, with Red Gate to follow on June 7.

You can grab the wares through the menu screens of the game (while in range of a wireless internet connection) or take your PC browser to the official site here for a direct download. Then ...
Dubbed Carnival City, the track is downloadable by selecting Burnout HQ from the main menu and selecting the Download Tracks option.
This is a weird Burnout. Its like Burnout: Year Zero, or Burnout Returns, a kind of re-imagining of the series that ignores the more recent developments. Lots of the innovations introduced in 2005s Burnout: Revenge have been dumped, modes have been dropped, and features last seen in Burnout 2 have been brought back in as replacements. So what we were expecting to be a half-assed rehash of recycled tracks is, in fact, a right awesome Burnout game.

The first big reintroduction is the Burnout ...
Say you're playing any RPG or platformer, and your oversize-coated, boybandish hero is whacked with a mace over a cliff, sent tumbling down a ravine, finally grinding to a halt in a briar patch. Funny, but never a cause for celebration. So why is it, with so many racing games out there, that rolling a muscle car at 90 miles an hour is, time and again, one of the most satisfying experiences a gamer can have?

Anybody who's spent a legitimate amount of time in a game like Grand Theft Auto knows ...
Sure, we occasionally like to amble along in a Honda Civic with tweaked rear suspension in Gran Turismo 4, do a couple of laps of Tokyo in Project Gotham 3 or hurtle through a deadly canyon in NFS: Carbon but nothing, nothing quite sends the adrenaline coursing through our veins like a sweet signature or revenge ...
You probably saw the first screens of developer Criterion's PS2 and PSP title Burnout Dominator when we posted them back in December, but publisher EA has just updated us with a new set of images and a trailer showing off the game in all its crash-infused glory.

New info reveals that "Burnouts" will make a return from Burnout 2 (where you fill up the boost meter and then drain it in one go) while Signature Shortcuts require you to perform a signature takedown at the entrance to a shortcut to ...
Friday 8 December 2006
Burnout Dominator has been announced by publisher EA for release next year, with the new addition to the Burnout series staying current-gen on PS2 and PSP.

Dominator will have all the high speed collisions that have become the series' signature but much of the action will be served up in mini skill-based challenges such as drift or near-miss contests. The PSP version will have ad hoc multiplayer options as well as downloadable ...

EA has announced the development of Burnout Dominator for PlayStation 2 and PSP.

Billed as an all-new instalment in the award winning series, the game should be loaded to the brim with intense racing action and dozens of World Tour events. Players will be challenged to face off against a series of rivals in brutal tests of aggressive driving, punishing the smallest mistake and rewarding reckless risk taking.

"The series was born on the PlayStation 2, and Burnout Dominator is about celebrating the essence of Burnout," said Nick Channon, senior producer of Burnout Dominator. "Burnout Dominator focuses on the reckless skill-based racing and fear of crashing that fuelled the first games."

The game doesn't have a firm release date, but is expected to ship in 2007.
