Burnout Dominator - hands-on

One racer to rule them all

We’ll come straight out and admit it - Burnout is GR’s favorite racing series, period. Sure, we occasionally like to amble along in a Honda Civic with tweaked rear suspension in Gran Turismo 4, do a couple of laps of Tokyo in Project Gotham 3 or hurtle through a deadly canyon in NFS: Carbon but nothing, nothing quite sends the adrenaline coursing through our veins like a sweet signature or revenge takedown...

Trouble is, when you’ve got the most advanced - not to mention eyeball-searingly spectacular - crash physics in the business, you’re gonna be tempted to show them off all of the time. And that’s exactly what happened with Burnout Revenge. It was a stellar game, sure, but all that traffic checking ended up being overkill, with races more focused on smashing stuff up than last-minute dodges and audacious overtaking maneuvers.

So ready yourself for the purest Burnout experience yet, a stripped-back racer with almost no traffic checking, that rewards the kind of driving you see on your local council estate after a night out on a Saturday. EA have designed completely new tracks specifically for purposes of dangerous driving, so expect crammed motorways, massive jumps and endless corners to chain drifts around.
