I loved the first Walking Dead - in fact It ranks amongst my all-time favourites. However, I really hope they use different main characters this time as I felt the ending to the first was incredibly moving, and a great send off for Lee and Clementine. Bringing back the same characters I feel would dilute the emotional impact of the first game. However, side characters (ones that survived) could definitely still feature. If this is Walking Dead of course - it could be something totally new...

Speculation: A Kinect based fighting game of some sort. Sounds underwhelming I know, but if any dev can pull it off it's Harmonix. The Dance Central series was glorious.

"Expected to lose $39 million in the second quarter" That figure would still be astonishing even if it were annual when you take into account the fact that this is a company who makes "browser based social games" It's almost like people were getting bored with those repetitive games with no longevity.

I disagree that Zynga was "just another overhyped IPO". They dominated the market and had the traffic to show for it. I personally don't like how they do business, all they do is copy games IMHO. But in this day in age, a company either adapts or dies off. With regard to Facebook, it's really hard to judge a company so young with such a strong market share. I mean almost 1 billion monthly actives?? (at least as of July 2012)...they're at a pivotal point in their life, but the same goes for them, when you operate in a world that's evolving faster and faster, you either adapt/change or die.

Again I think movies of games aren't really needed. Germany just got rid of Uwe Boll. I bet they think it will be easy money. Games will watch movie versions or 'tv' of games they play. I agree by the time this movie comes out WoW will have no one left.

i don't resemble anything close to a gears fan, and this was my understanding as well. they 'belonged' to sera as much as we 'belong' to the earth. the quotes serve merely to point out that we, in fact, have no idea where we came from. so we could REALLY be pissing off the insect population as we speak. ;)

Hey you guys talk about how gamestop and others like it are some horrible menace for pushing used games. but then someone mentioned that these stores only get $5 for the sale of a new game. Doesn't this seem to be a huge issue? if thats the case publishers must be charging retailers far too much for games. they are forcing these stores out of business. they push used games because they can't possibly stay in business. Look i'm no fan of buying used games or trading in the ones i have and i thought that online passes were a good idea (shame that the gaming community whined the idea out of existence) but i wouldn't be so quick to side completely with publishers on this issue. just another side of the argument to consider.

Hey Guys, Love the Podcast, listen to it while i work away over here in Australia. My answer to QotW: A game I'd use the next-gen take-over function for is The Secret World. Every f*cking investigation quest. Like I know Latin, or the Bible, or any of the other references they allude to in that game. Love the game, just those bloody investigation quests, rip-out-your-hair difficult.

I can understand T2, I try to stay away from MMO's because there enormous time sinks and I already have enough of those, still I end up getting a few of them: SW TOR, LOTRO, SWG, GW2, never got very far in them. Anyway the point is that the publishers put a bunch of cash into these hoping to get a long time return and there's statistics showing that after the initial release and burst of players it dwindles after the second month etc...

Guild Wars 2 hasn't even been out a year. They release new content pretty much every month. They must be doing well to keep developers constantly working on things. Also, their servers are always high or full, although I have no idea how many they have in comparison to WoW. As far as F2P, it's definitely not pay to win, and yet if you sit in the main towns you can find people that have spent well over $1000 already.

As far as my gaming tastes go I'm rather happy about this. For a while developers were putting too much emphasis on turning everything into an MMO, a genre I have little to no interest in. I wish the Old Republic had been KOTOR 3, but instead we got an MMO. Now that they see they aren't all that successful here, with the exception of WOW, maybe they will refocus on more dedicated single player RPG's again. There is one MMO I would love to see tho and I'd play it passionately. A Pokemon MMO would blow the world's collective minds and could potentially become even more successful than WOW ever dreamed to be.
