It comes as last week, a NeoGAFer said the publisher will finally release the game in the West, despite saying previously there were no plans to do so.

In Tokyo Game Vandal Show it has been able to know that Yakuza 3 will arrive at Europe in the month of March, and that in fact the Castilian will do with translation. Although it has not been confirmed what company is the one that is behind the project, although the information which we have rather little indicates one habitual one in Japanese games, yes we know that one of the controverted parts more of the game, the one of the management of clubs of alternates, will be eliminated in the western version, reducing therefore the task of location of the game.

Just a few days ago Sega rep Aaron Webber commented that the possibility of Yakuza 3 coming to the U.S. still exists and that it's a subject discussed quite often at Sega.

Today 1UP can do one better: they've learned that the PS3 exclusive is indeed coming west. According to sources close to the project, Yakuza 3 is currently being localized for release in the U.S. and European markets.

"SEGA gave out huge news today by confirming that the possibility of the game being localized is actually very real.

Following up on the previous story that the game's future is very much up in the air, Aaron Webber, Assistant Community Manager for SEGA of America, commented on the PS blog stating:

'Yakuza 3 is not cancelled – and the possibility for localizing it does, in fact, still exist.

The original news story that went around about Yakuza 3 being declined for the US was false, and localizing the game still remains a big point of discussion for many people here at SEGA'

Kotaku writes: "Keep hope alive! It seems SEGA America's Ray Almeda misspoke and gave his own personal opinion to The Examiner that Yakuza 3 will not be released in the States because of subpar Yakuza 2 sales.

The Examiner has since run an update, explaining those remarks were not "official SEGA statements." The Examiner adds, "SEGA still hasn't made any mention of an upcoming release or revealed plans to release it stateside."

SEGA have been auditioning nice young ladies to feature in an upcoming sequel to the Yakuza franchise. Between May 8 and June 19, there were over 1,500 applicants. Groups of 2-3 were interviewed by the game's creators. They were asked to read lines and questioned things such as whether they liked karaoke. Apparently all this is an essential part of making a good game.

There were five possible responses to each game/console: very satisfied, satisfied, indifferent, unsatisfied and very unsatisfied. Each game and console is then assigned a satisfaction score out of 5 accordingly.

Yakuza 3 was recently reviewed by the popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu and it scored a 38/40. Though the magazine has come under fire as of late for some of it's more eyebrow raising reviews, a 38 is still a very good score.

Famitsu's review also revealed that the title is roughly 30 hours long. That's just for the main storyline as well, so all the karaoke singing, womanizing, golfing, tanning, and whatever other dilly dallying you have Kazuma Kiryu up to is all just bonus time tacked on to that.

First impressions of Sega's open world mobster title, Yakuza 3, are in. The title has scored 10, 10, 9 and 9 from Famitsu's panel of critics, for a combined score of 38/40. For those who don't know about the series it's basically a gang land fighter, set in Japan, with RPG elements. In the West it received limited commercial success, but critics enjoyed them and their faithful reconstructions of the Tokyo environments.

While the first Western release enjoyed a loving vocal translation, due to its poor reception meant the sequel 'only' received subtitles. This was no bad thing as Sega pulled out all the stops in their recruiting of top tier Japanese vocal talent.

Yakuza 3 is no exception. Though my knowledge of their names is limited all but three of the twelve cast members at the Sega event were immediately familiar. Disturbingly the three unfamiliar member of the cast were the hostess's voices who even in the article were described merely as 'talent' (at least in the sections of the article I was able to read)."

Sega of Japan has just announced a massive marketing campaign to promote it's upcoming title, Yakuza 3.

This will include a tie up with Japanese fasihon magazine Koakuma Ageha to produce a limited print of Yakuza T-Shirts. Matsuya ( a restaurant) will be holding a drawing to give away Yakuza-printed dinner bowls. Karaoke-Kan will be selling Yakuza-themed food and drinks, and will also be airing a special Yakuza 3 commercial. Okinawa Health Food Develop Cooperative will also be offering Yakuza-style health drinks.

After the break you can see two new excellent new Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (Yakuza 3) trailers and a handful of high res images from Sega Japan.

One movie features beautifully rendered cutscenes interspersed with some great looking gameplay whilst the other shows you kicking people's heads in.

The images show some more karaoke fun and some golf.

Sega told videogaming247 last week that there are there are no plans for a Western release.

If that doesn't get you excited, maybe if we tell you you see our white-suited friend standing in a restaurant doing nothing, that'll get your juices flowing.

Maybe one day we'll be able to write that Yakuza will be due out sometime in the West. Today however, is not that day.

Yakuza 3 is featured once again in the latest issue of Famitsu. This week, the magazine offers a look at the game's mini games and the new Okinawan play area.

The Yakuza series is known for offering players a variety of mini games apart from the main story. For part 3, Sega appears to be working on some robust games, including a golf game set on a golf course, billiards in a bar, and a fishing game on the coast. For the billiards game, you can select from a variety of rules and play against cabaret girls. For the fishing game, you use food items for bait. Fish that you procure can be used directly as items or sold for money.

ps3 fanboy write: Famitsu (translation via IGN) has unveiled in its latest issue details regarding the battle system of Yakuza 3. One of the major improvements is seamless transitions into fights. Another note-worthy addition is the foes you encounter may decide to run away from you (and vice versa, if you are chicken) -- you now have to option to engage in a "chase battle" to pursuit the enemy. This "chase battle" involves keeping your enemy in sight with your mini map and avoiding any obstacles that may appear in your path.

A "tag tournament mode" was also shown in the gaming magazine's pages. Your character enters a fighting arena where you must team up with a partner (whether this is a CPU partner or something else isn't clear) to unleash some co-op attacks on your enemies.

The last iteration of the Yakuza franchise on the PS3 sold fairly well over in Japan. Unfortunately, it hasn't received a stateside release (yet) -- here's to hoping Sega will bring both Yakuza games over to the Western market.

While we already know the game will be an immediate sequel to the second, featuring the same characters and the same storyline, what we didn't know was that the game's going to be taking a pleasant break from the streets of faux-Tokyo. While the game will still be based around Kamurocho, it'll be adding a "second city": island getaway Okinawa (or, at least, a fictional take on Okinawa).

In the latest issue of Famitsu, it was announced that SEGA's toasted Toshihiro Nagoshi has been working on Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (Yakuza 3). This isn't to be confused with Edo-era PS3 exclusive Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, which is actually the third Yakuza game in the franchise, but not actually Yakuza 3. Confused? According to the article, Kenzan! was a spin-off, and this newly announced game is actually the third one in the series, m'kay. Work began on the game commenced after development on Kenzan! finished, and the story picks up where Yakuza 2 left off. Well, that makes sense at least.

According to Neogaf post the game have a release date set for spring Spring 2009 and it's exclusive for PS3.

To help push Yakuza 3 and Valkyrie of the Battlefield, the company will distribute a promotional set to those who purchase product from the Sega Direct e-commerce site, or those who sample the games at an upcoming demo event.

A playable demo of Yakuza 3, the latest (PS3-exclusive) edition of Sega's Japanese gangster-themed brawler will be hitting the Japanese PSN as soon as this month.

The demo is expected to arrive on PSN "mid-January", according to "wholesale" sources, coutesy of Google translations of GF (GameFront).

Japan's favorite crotch-shot model, Yinling of Joy Toy, will be making an appearance in the upcoming third installment of Yakuza.

If you don't follow Japanese soft-porn celebrities, Yinling is a Taiwanese-born swimsuit model well-known in Japan primarily for her signature low-squat and legs-spread pose.

Skilled as she as at this job, she also moonlights as a "talent," which is defined as someone who appears on Japanese variety shows regularly enough to be known for doing such. Yes, I know that's extremely circular and makes no sense, but often enough neither do the existence of most "talents."
