The US gossip writer who was fired after reviewing a leaked copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine hit back at his former employer yesterday, slapping Fox News and its parent company News Corp with a $5m (£3m) claim for damages. For good measure, the lawsuit accuses Fox of "wilful, reckless, intentional and malicious" defamation.

Just when you thought you have seen the end of wolverine's rage, think again. Raven Software's Dan Vondrak, project lead on X-Men Origins, was asked by Gameinformer magazine would there be any chance for DLC and Vondrak had this to say:

PS3Hype writes: 'Today the new Dutch Software Sales are public, and we see that there is one new game this week in the top 10 overall charts, and this game is X-Men Orgins Wolverine. Wolverine comes in on the 10th place in the overall sales. The 360 version of the game isn't represented in the top 10 list from overall software sales. This time for the game X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The X-Men's fiercest hero digs his claws into retail stores globally with the release of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game from Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and Marvel (NYSE: MVL). Developed by critically acclaimed studio Raven Software, the game allows players to harness Wolverine's brute strength, regenerative mutant abilities, and indestructible adamantium claws as they battle powerful forces and uncover the mysteries behind his origin. Inspired by the feature film from Twentieth Century Fox released in theaters everywhere on the same date, the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game also features the voices of some of the film's leading men: Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) and will.i.am (John Wraith).
This is a bit nuts, but it seems to be for a good cause in the end. Activision has apparently sponsored the wolverine enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo for one year in exchange for the zoo changing their only male wolverine's name to Logan. Dead serious.
The demo for X-Men Origins Wolverine that was to arrive tomorrow for the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN, is now available for download.
