A piece of ancient gaming history is up for grabs on eBay

A post on the Wolfenstein community forums has outlined plans for a new patch for the World War II first-person shooter. There are different change lists for the three separate platforms; PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, all of which address issues with the game's multiplayer component.

Xbox LifeStyle writes: If you haven't picked up Activision's recently released Wolfenstein, then now is the time to do so. Today only, one major online retailer has dropped the price of Wolfenstein by a $20 bill.

Actvision Blizzard is recalling all german versions of Wolfenstein because of unconstitutional symbols. Maybe a swastika. In Germany, swastikas and similar symbols are not allowed in games.

When the NPD Group released its non-PC US game sales figures for August earlier today, one of the month's highest-profile titles was missing in action. Neither the Xbox 360 nor the PlayStation 3 version of Wolfenstein cracked the top 10, despite the classic id shooter reboot being promoted by Activision--which was shut out of the top 10 entirely. How poorly did Wolfenstein fare? According to NPD numbers obtained by GameSpot, the 360 version sold just over 59,000 units, with the PS3 edition barely clearing 30,000. Add in the PC iteration's 17,000 units, and Wolfenstein sold only around 106,000 units in the five days from its August 25 launch to August 29, when NPD's monthly reporting period ended.

PlayStation LifeStyle writes: This week there are no surprises as to who has gone home the winner in sales. Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3) has bested all others. Dissidia: Final Fantasy (PSP) retains its top placement for an astounding 37th week. Madden (PS2) retains the still in first after three weeks.
