"This week, we are treated to a demo of the next iteration of EA's award winning NHL franchise with NHL 10. Along with that the North American PS Store should see the WET, and DiRT 2 demos that EU got last week. EU PS Store will be getting Smash Cars this week. Also owners of Fight Night Round 4 should be ready for another round of DLC which adds some new boxers to the game's roster. We expect more DLC, and possibly a PSN game to round out the update."
I hope your collective appetites have been sufficiently wet by all the announcements made at gamescom, I for one am personally very excited about the new additions coming to the PlayStation Network.

Talking of wet, WET is one of three demos we have releasing on the store later today (did you see what I did there…ahem, apologies), alongside Mini Ninjas and IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. You can also fling Andy Dick around in Pain from today, as well as get yourself a Street Fighter II themed table for Zen Pinball. We also have another batch of trailers from gamescom, including footage from the Sony press conference."

Bethesda's just confirmed it's GamesCom line-up, and if you're up for a look at Splash Damage's Brink, you're in luck.

WET, Wheelspin and Medieval Games will be playable, however.

GamesCom takes place in Cologne starting August 19.

On the question if there are plans to release DLC for WET, Fortier responded:

"No, there are no plans for DLC. We have decided that we should put our efforts in the game itself and try to make it the best experience possible."

Fortier also said "I believe that spreading games (and content) via internet is the future, but the real disc will never dissapear. Even though the internet has many advantages, people will always want to have something they can touch."

After Vivendi's game division merged with Activision last year a lot of titles got cut by Activision. Among those titles was the action packed shooter WET from developer A2M. During an interview with Dutch website Gaming Only at an event for the game in Amsterdam today, the game's Creative Director Patrick Fortier, told a different story. He says that after they heard that Activision would not be publishing all of Vivendi's titles, A2M took matters into their own hand and bought back all the rights from Vivendi. Fortier said "we (A2M) did not have enough faith that WET would be at the right place with Activision". He also added that they did not want to wait to find out if the game was still going to be published by Activision or if it would be dropped.

When talking about new publisher Bethesda Fortier said "we are really happy with Bethesda Softworks, they haven't limited us in any way". During the time WET did not have a publisher A2M had several parties that were interested in publishing WET. They chose Bethesda, because they felt best at home with them according to Frontier.

When relaying states of personal excitement, a lot of game journalists like to talk in terms of wetness. Like: "This game looks so awesome it made me wet". We do our best to avoid such analogies on GamesRadar. However, when Bethesda showed us Wet recently we thought we'd get into the spirit of things by measuring how 'wet' we got through the duration of the demo. So, FYI, here's a breakdown of how wet all the bits of Wet made us get. ...

"It ties 3 different styles of gameplay into the mechanics of the whole game. Swordplay, acrobatics and 360 degree slip-aiming mechanics which should have some gamers not knowing which game they are playing at times.

The last casualty of the Activision Blizzard merger is Wet. A2M's stylish shooting game was announced last year, then went dark after Activision Blizzard dropped many Sierra properties.

However, Wet is far from dead. A new trailer spontaneously surfaced with little fanfare a few weeks ago. A2M is still working on the game, but who is publishing it? Sharp commenter NickyD (thanks!!) pointed me in the direction of Famitsu. That's right, we're getting news about a Western developed game from a Japanese magazine. *Looks outside, checks for a blue moon.*

The Website for Wet, a new action game from Artificial Mind & Movement is down and has been down for at least two days according to Google's cache of the website. Wet, for release on the PS3 and 360, is a game featuring Muscle-for-hire Ruby, a so-called "problem fixer" who gets double-crossed by her latest client which causes her to unleash her fury across three continents to find the man who left her for dead. No news or explanation for the site's downtime is given on Artificial Mind & Movement's website, leaving one to speculate on weather it is being updated for E3 or fundamental adjustments to the website, changes to the character, or storyline alterations are underway. Only the words "In construction" in French and English along with the sphincter-like logo with the initials A2M below remains; which could leave one with a slightly tainted sense of humor a little giggly.
Today, the Bitbag received an e-mail confirmation from Sierra/Vivendi that Wet will not be a PS3 exclusive title. We put a little more confidence in this response than prior "we can neither confirm or deny" statements we have heard from other publishers in the past.
Oct 17, 2007

You'd be forgiven for thinking it's a bit gratuitous. After all, christening a game Wet when its main character is a big breasted, kick-ass female killer called Rubi who packs more weaponry than a Texan household, instantly sets the mind racing towards obvious, lower-region moistness gags and blatantly sexual marketing ploys. But you'd be wrong to be so hasty. You see, rather than being a mere excuse for developer A2M to pack enough polygons into a D-cup to make Lara feel ...
