Split-Screen: "With the recent closure of GRIN, developers of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for PC and Capcom's Bionic Commando, many assets and revelations have come to light. Another one to recently come up are questions regarding the other cancelled project 'Cult'. It seems the game was none other than to this year's Wanted: Weapons of Fate, the 'not-quite-bad-not-quite-good-whatever' multi-platform action title based on that film about bending bullets (and logic)."

This week's new video games bring a mix of movies, real-time strategy, sports, and RPGs. Tomorrow (Sunday) is the release of Pokemon Platinum. It will be a big seller for the DS with the large base of Pokémon collectors out there. Now that gamers have warmed up to RTS gaming with Halo Wars, it may be a good time to check out Stormrise from SEGA. Stormrise offers a new perspective to the traditional RTS with a third-person view and "vertical" gameplay. PLAYSTATION 3 gamers looking for a solid RTS fix should check out the "Ultimate Edition" of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. Video cutscenes look great on the Blu-ray edition. Try the demo just recently released on the PlayStation Network to see for yourself. Wanted: Weapons of Fate is a movie-inspired game that looks promising. A demo is available on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network as well. As a little bonus, we have a video featuring the artist of the Wanted comic book below, courtesy of Hollywood.com. Grin working on three new games (News)

Gamereactor have talked to Grin (GRAW 1 & 2 PC, Bionic Commando, Wanted: Weapons of Fate, Terminator Salvation) about the future as the studio is pushing three projects out the door this spring.

"Swedish developers Grin, who have just finished work on Wanted: Weapons of Fate (due out next week), and are in submission phase on Bionic Commando and Terminator Salvation, have started work on three new projects already Grin's CEO Bo Andersson told Gamereactor. No details are available at this point in time."

Andersson also comments on the start of the next generation:

"- I think the financial situation has delayed the start of the next generation. I'm hoping it will start late 2012 at the earliest or early 2013, says Andersson."

Checking out Wanted in theaters wasn't an option for me this past summer so seeing it on Blu-ray marks my first shot at checking out Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov's first American effort.

While digging through the supplemental features I stumbled upon a handful of unlockable codes tucked away in not-so-obvious locations. This was an unexpected surprise as there is no mention of these codes on the packaging."

Universal Pictures announced during this week's E3 that it will publish a Wanted game, based on the recent movie, with Warner Bros. Interactive. The storyline is set directly after the conclusion of the movie, with third-person gameplay featuring mechanics from the film such as curving bullets and an "Assassin Time" mode to slow down time.
