Ripten: Unreal Tournament 3 for the Xbox 360 is coming this Summer (June 30th in the States and unannounced in Europe) and it looks like loyal Microsoft fans will be getting five exclusive maps, two new characters, and split-screen action for two players. Unfortunately for 360 users, this bonus content doesn't really mean diddly.

Epic has released the first official map pack for Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3.
Eurogamer writes: "Epic Games has popped a plaster over the bleeding bits of Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3.
One of the most anticipated UT3 features was the possibility of allowing PS3 gamers to import new community content/mods on their consoles. Epic has released an updated version of the tools to "cook" your own content, and transfer it from PC to PS3. This version is up to date for the newest PS3 patch released a few days ago, and requires the v1.2 PC patch installed.
Epic will unleash a huge bug-stomping patch for the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament III on March 27. As well as crushing a list of bugs and glitches as long as your arm, it will make the Euro and US versions of the game cross compatible on the online multiplayer side. The dutch gaming website XGN published the date and details of the upcoming Unreal Tournament III patch. There will be two patches avaible on the 27 of March, for the US version of the game and the EU version.
Publisher and developer Midway has released the results of its holiday quarter and full year, showing Q4 sales falling to $77.6 million, and losses rising considerably from $2 million in 2006 to $29.7 million, with execs saying the company has "overcome many of [its] technology hurdles" for a "smoother" 2008.
Videogamer writes: "While Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 has finally hit UK streets, the Xbox 360 version is still shrouded in mystery - or so we thought.
In an interview with Joystiq, Epic Games' VP Mark Rein told them that there's no progress with Microsoft on making UT3 mods work with Xbox Live. One would think Microsoft would be more open to community content given the recent Xbox Live Community announcement, but Rein noted that the system is different. Rein said the Xbox 360 version has no set release date.
Midway Games has confirmed that Unreal Tournament 3 for PlayStation 3 will hit Europe on Friday February 22, and the PC and PS3 releases of the game has shipped over 1.2 million units worldwide.

Midway has confirmed to Eurogamer that Unreal Tournament 3 on PlayStation 3 will be out here on 22nd February. It will join the PC version that launched in November 2007, and do clever things like work with mods designed by the desktop community sitting jovially behind their command centres.
