Bungie's Halo 3 took top Game of the Year honors during the G-Phoria awards last night, broadcast by game-oriented cable television network G4.
Xbox 360 was named the station's favorite system -- which falls in line with the award distribution. Of the show's 18 game awards, only four went to titles not available on Microsoft's system: Best Graphics and Best Voice Acting for Kojima Productions' Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Best Racing Game for Nintendo EAD's Mario Kart Wii, and, by default, Best Handheld Game for Ready at Dawn's God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Native American actor Adam Beach will play Turok in the upcoming feature film.
Mostly known for his roles on TV's Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and the movie Windtalkers, Beach is one of few prominent Native American Hollywood stars. His credentials for playing Turok go farther than that, though - he was the voice of Turok in this year's animated film, Turok: Son of Stone.

Next-Gen.Biz writes: "The Propaganda Games-developed sci-fi dino blaster Turok has shipped over 1 million units worldwide, according to publisher Touchstone.
The first-person shooter, based on the Turok franchise that debuted in 1997, launched on February 5 this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Touchstone also announced that it will be releasing five new multiplayer maps on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on March 27. The content, dubbed the Velociraptor Pack, will cost 400 Microsoft Points ($5) on Xbox Live or $4.99 on PlayStation Store."

New multiplayer maps will be coming soon for Turok. Originally announced for release on the Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday, it looks like the maps are currently undergoing certification but should be available very soon. Desolation, Sentinel, Inconclusive Tests and A Rivalry Continues are the new multiplayer maps. There's also a new co-op map. The map pack will go for 400 Microsoft Points ($5). Watch for it on the PlayStation Network as well, scheduled for release tomorrow on March 27, 2008, also for $5.» Read More

Xbox accounts for 61 per cent of units sold in UK.
The latest title in the former Sony exclusive franchise Devil May Cry has debuted in the UK's All Formats charts at number one, with the lion's share of sales on the Xbox 360.
Sixty one per cent of sales were on the Microsoft console, with the rest on Sony's PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is number one in the All Formats charts but also the individual format charts as well.

Uk website shopto.com has posted a message on their website notifying customers that games due for release on February 8th have arrived early they are now shipping Turok, Conflict: Denied Ops & Devil May Cry 4* for next day delivery.
Although this means you will only get the game 1-2 days before release this might be interesting for some die-hard fans of the franchises or anyone looking to get any of the games.
* Devil may cry 4 on Xbox 360 is already in stock, PS3 version expected 06/02/2008.

Kotaku has received quite a few emails this weekend from people saying they had picked up copies of Turok at their local stores. While it's not out of the ordinary for a game's street date to be broken by a single outlet, according to Best Buy, GameStop, GameCrazy and Wal-mart the game came out three days ago on Jan. 31. Apparently no one told this to the game's publisher, Touchstone. The official Turok website has a countdown clock that still has a little over two days left on it. The press materials and game websites like IGN and Gamespot also have it listed as a February 5th release. Is this a matter of a mass mistake on the retailers' part or is Touchstone being sneaky and letting the cat out of the bag early on purpose?» Read More

Edit: After being told the game was "4-5 hours long" during our preview time, we have been asked to clarify that the game is in fact 12-15 hours long, and are happy to do so.
If ever a series lost its way, it's Turok. After a couple of brilliant N64 games, it combusted. First it went darker (d'oh) added zombies (gah!), then went back to dinos only with added mediocrity (sigh). It looked like a sure candidate for extinction. The controversial feature in the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game Turok that rewards players for killing their teammates will be removed with a patch, says publisher Touchstone.
While Turok will ship with the "Grab Bag" achievement (or accomplishment) intact, the patch will be available online on February 5, the day the game hits store shelves.
The PlayStation 3 patch will also add support for rumble controllers like the upcoming Dual Shock 3 and for 1080i television displays.
