Ubisoft today confirmed on their community forums that a patch to fix the Private First Class achievement in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is in development. The achievement doesn't unlock because players who have a Rainbow Six: Vegas (One) save file, receive a bonus which takes the total XP to a rank above Private First Class.

Ubisoft also said they are looking into reported online issues but those issues seem to be more PlayStation 3 based. No specific release date for the patch was announced but Ubisoft have said that "the connection issues have not been known for as long and will require more indepth research to establish what the issue is".

Over the weekend, many shooter fans were enjoying time with Ubisoft's recently released title Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. While those playing the Xbox 360 version had few problems, PlayStation 3 owners were left out in the cold: bugs, disconnection issues, freezing, and a wide variety of problems are marring the otherwise-strong multiplayer action in its PS3 form.

One GameFAQs reader sent a scathing email to Ubisoft only to get back a response from a customer service representative that the "issue is currently being worked on by the development team." An ETA was not given, but the rep noted that "it should not be long."

So the exclusive offers are not so exclusive after all. Both Game Stop and Best Buy were offering supposedly exclusive codes.

Game Stop's exclusive offer, a code to unlock the Comcast Optimized MLG map if you pre-order the game. You would think being exclusive there would be this one time longer then you want to enter code in the market place to unlock this map but the code is as simple as entering in "Comcast Faster" from the Main Menu from within the game. Not exclusive at all.

No word on exactly what the map will contain, but I have to admit, the title has me scratching my head. "Comcast Event Map" dredges up some strange thoughts involving dicey connections, rude customer service and an On-Demand system that only works about 40% of the time. Tom Bramwell of Eurogamer reports, Ubisoft's Rainbow Six series will be finished with Vegas as a location once the team completes work on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

"We will never go back to Vegas - at least, not in the foreseeable future," designer Philippe Therien told Eurogamer at a recent preview event.

"We really feel that the story of Vegas is done. We've explored as much of Vegas as we wanted. For now, we're pretty much covered with Vegas."

Therien also admitted that he's not sure whether the game will continue to focus on a single place.

"The concept of being around one location was really good for Vegas, it really works," he said. "Whether we'll do that again, I don't know right now."
