Ubisoft today confirmed on their community forums that a patch to fix the Private First Class achievement in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is in development. The achievement doesn't unlock because players who have a Rainbow Six: Vegas (One) save file, receive a bonus which takes the total XP to a rank above Private First Class.
GameDaily reports: "The latest in Ubisoft's popular Rainbow Six shooter franchise, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, has already shipped over one million units in the U.S., according to the most recent investor research note on the publisher from Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter.
Over the weekend, many shooter fans were enjoying time with Ubisoft's recently released title Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. While those playing the Xbox 360 version had few problems, PlayStation 3 owners were left out in the cold: bugs, disconnection issues, freezing, and a wide variety of problems are marring the otherwise-strong multiplayer action in its PS3 form.
Hushed Casket points out that people who purchased Rainbow Six Vegas 2 from Best Buy were given a code to unlock a free gun in the game. The thing is the code was printed on a sticker on the outside of the game. Better still it can be used by anyone who owns the game.
Reports are starting to come in that re indicating that the PS3 versions multiplayer is experiencing some serious issues. If you look in the official forums you will notice a few threads regarding a connection error message that people are receiving when they try and connect to a game.
So the exclusive offers are not so exclusive after all. Both Game Stop and Best Buy were offering supposedly exclusive codes.
Today Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 has shipped to retail stores and is now available for $59.99.
Comcast are giving all Rainbow six: Vegas 2 pruchases a free map called "Comcast Event", the map is avaible to anyone on both PS3 and Xbox 360.
With just a few days to go until its release, we are already getting some bonus content for Rainbow Six Vegas 2. GameInvasion is hosting a special "Comcast Event Map" that can be downloaded from their site as soon as the game hits your PS3 or 360. No word on exactly what the map will contain, but I have to admit, the title has me scratching my head. "Comcast Event Map" dredges up some strange thoughts involving dicey connections, rude customer service and an On-Demand system that only works about 40% of the time. Let's hope this map involves none of these.
Highlights for this week include the return of Rainbow Six Vegas as it releases to Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers. In addition, the Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection makes its way to the Playstation 2.

Videogamer reports that Ubisoft has today revealed a great way for RB6 fans to club together and save some money when buying Rainbow Six Vegas 2. HMV Online has a special Clan Pack offer which includes four copies of the game for the price of three. This offer only appears to be available for the Xbox 360 version.
