February's free PSN+ roster includes an HD treat for fans of golden-age Simpsons episodes, and plenty of other titles for anyone mental enough not to fit into that bracket...

Wolfenstein 3D may have re-invigorated an unknown 8-bit franchise and introduced the world to the concept of "a shooting game, in the first person;" but while paving the road for Doom, Halo and Modern Warfare is well and good, the title was, until recently, lacking in the one area universally recognized as the sign of having Made It in the world of entertainment. We're speaking, of course, of having an officially-sanctioned Simpsons parody drawn of you; but thanks to newly-released...

The Simpsons making fun of German censorship in The Simpsons: The Game. In one level the player runs through a game-production-place - instead of red blood the player can find a large container with ACHTUNG BLUT on it and a green liquid in it. ACHTUNG BLUT means ATTENTION BLOOD. It's a funny gag about the censorship and the green blood in German games. The source shows the whole screenshot.

Cnet: Not only are there some really good deals on game consoles this holiday season, but also on games. Starting December 7, Best Buy is cutting prices for one week on some popular titles for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, making all the serious gamers holiday dreams come true. This is only on selected titles, for both consoles: Xbox 360: Tom Clancy's EndWar for $39.99, Civil War for $29.99, Legendary for 39.99, and Far Cry 2 for $39.99. PlayStation 3: Konami Corp's Metal Gear Solid 4 for $39.99, Dangerous Hunts for $29.99, and The Simpsons game for $9.99 Online giant Amazon.com is making console bundle choices a tad more complicated with deals on the PlayStation 3. With that and the recent price drop of the Xbox 360, this should make for some hard holiday decisions. A bundle known as the high-definition promotion gives the consumer $50 off the PlayStation 3, game, Blu-ray disc, and a remote.

Paul Munn of Aeropause has an article detailing a rather interesting use of the ToS between PSN and EA Games. Seems that EA is pulling info that is registered with PSN to send out email to customers. While in and of itself was not overtly bad, was combined with misleading statements, to get you to follow a link to an EA website.

Oct 29, 2007 An EA producer has said that Rockstar "spazzed out like little babies" in reaction to the GTA parody in The Simpsons Game. The comedy spoof level, titled Grand Theft Scratchy, didn't go down too well with GTA publisher Rockstar, who forced EA to rename the level; now called the not-so-clever 'Mob Rules' stage. Speaking on GameTrailer's Game Head program, Simpsons executive producer Matt Selman explained where the controversy began: "The game begins with Bart wanting to play a

Oct 23, 2007 Apparently Rockstar were among a number of game companies that werent happy with the way The Simpsons Game, out for 360, Wii, PS2, DS 2 November, was parodying their creations and wanted somethings removed from the final code. In an excusive interview with CVG the lead designer, Greg Rizzer, stated “we've had to pull stuff from the game”. But it seems, apart from renaming the trailer on the official site from Grand Theft Scratchy to the less catchy Mob Rules, not

Oct 8, 2007 We've already discovered that EA were nudged into cutting parts of The Simpsons Game, as reported by lead designer Greg Rizzer, but it seems there's been plenty of mickey-taking left in too - most humourously an Achievement for the 360 version called Hot Coffee. Now, wait. This isn't an unlockable cartoon version of that most infamous of GTA scandals. Instead, it's awarded for completing a timed challenge in the Rockstar-poking level of The Simpsons Game titled Grand Theft

Oct 4, 2007 A playable demo of The Simpsons Game has gone live in this week's PSN update in the US. Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War demo is the only other playable action to be had this week, again dashing hopes that PS3 owners would get a taster of the Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 demo, which has been on Xbox Live for some time. Neither Sony nor Konami could disclose an arrival date for the soccer demo when speaking to CVG earlier this week, but it's expected to appear at any moment. You'll
