PS3 - The Eye of Judgment - Gamespot - Hands on with Eye of Judgement for PS3 The Eye of Judgment has come a long way since it debuted at the Electronic Entertainment Expo last year as a cool tech demo built around a card game. Not only has the game been refined into something pretty cool, but the PlayStation 3 camera, now known as the PlayStation Eye, has also gotten a makeover. We had the chance to try out the latest work-in-progress version recently and have been impressed by how it's all coming together.

Sony Computer Entertainment has slapped a date on its PS3 card game Eye of Judgment - and thus also the included PlayStation 3 Eye Camera. It's pencilled in for a worldwide release this Autumn bundled with the camera, a stand and a starter deck with some cards. PS3 - The Eye of Judgment - PS3 'EyeToy' due this summer in Europe Sony has revealed the PlayStation Eye peripheral is due for release in Europe this summer.

The PlayStation Eye is the next-generation version of the the popular EyeToy camera, and features a range of improvements including microphone, two lens positions and a faster frame rate for smoother image capturing.

As well as enabling users to capture photos and video footage the package will also include EyeCreate editing software.

It comes out this fall, bundled in with the playing board, a selection of cards and the Playstation Eye3 Camera. Price not yet released.

Hasbro will be providing the cards and will be lending their expertise to SCE.

THE EYE OF JUDGMENT presents a new style of gameplay where the player brings creatures of trading cards to life for battle in 3D. Through use of a 3 x 3 board and trading cards, each encrypted with CyberCode, players conquer the field by selecting a card and placing the coded card in front of the PLAYSTATION(R)Eye for their respective creatures to come to life and battle. Each creature has various skills which will determine the outcome of the battle. Players take turns placing cards as they jostle for control of the board; the winner is the first player to conquer five of the nine fields.

PS3 - The Eye of Judgment - PlayStation Eye Camera - Coming to Europe The next generation of Sony EyeToy has been provisionally dated as having a release of 'Summer' in Europe. Possibly to coincide with the release of the PlayStation 3 version of Singstar which will make use of many of its features.

Designed specifically to work with the next generation of social gaming titles and new services being developed for PS3, key features of the PLAYSTATION Eye include:

¿ A sophisticated microphone with the ability to reduce background noise and focus on the spoken word for smoother, more accurate speech recognition and transfer

¿ The ability to capture videos and audio clips directly to your PS3's hard disk drive

¿ Engineered to perform well even in low-light conditions

¿ A range of different capturing modes, including slow motion and time-lapse

¿ Faster frame rate for improved tracking, responsiveness and smoothness

At this stage it is unconfirmed whether the camera will be different from that used with the upcoming PS3 card game Eye of Judgement.
