The Darkness

See The Darkness Multiplayer in action

You must be 17 or over to view this trailer

Starbreeze's first-person action game The Darkness is out on Xbox 360 now and you can feast your eyes on the game's multiplayer component right here.

The trailer features just under a minute of in-game footage and, as you can see, gunplay and horror is as much part of the multiplayer part as it is the single-player campaign with plenty of hardcore FPS action and shape-shifting into nasty beasties.

Take a look below - and remember: it's for the eyes of those 17 years of age or over, thanks to rulings by the ESRB.

Based on the comic book of the same name, The Darkness is a shooter relating the tale of Jackie Estacado, a mafia hitman wielding Darkness powers which allow him to wreak havoc and do things like devour, impale or implode enemies. Nice.

As Estacado, you can also do things like cannibalize the corpses of slain victims and transform them into Darklings - impish little demons that commit unspeakable acts.

The Darkness hits the PS3 on July 20, the game's publisher confirmed yesterday. Check out our review for the Xbox 360 version.
