Namco Bandai Games America Inc. this week said that it is in development on a new download update to improve the online play in Tekken 6 for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360.

The company said that the DLC is separate from the online co-op Scenario Campaign mode update to be released in the winter.

It added that the update will be available as soon as it has passed testing procedures.

Late last month, Tekken 6 was released on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. The editors at Japan's Gemaga decided to see how the load times stack up.

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions compared with the game running installed on the hard drive as well as running off the actual disk. When the game is installed on the hardware, there isn't that big of a difference between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 - the Xbox 360 is slightly fast by a few seconds, but no biggie.

However, according to Gemaga, it takes over thirty seconds (33 seconds, to be exact) to change a character and change a stage running the actual game disc on the PS3, compared with the 11 seconds it takes to start a fight on the Xbox 360 using the game disc.

Console development on Namco Bandai's Tekken 6 is now complete.

After already being in Arcades for a year, the sixth King of Iron Fist Tournament has gone gold on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Shipping on the 30th October, the game will see an arcade stick, limited editions, and in certain territories, a PS3 hardware bundle. The game's viral advertising campaign has already begun.

The game will also include a fully featured online mode with its crisp 60fps visuals.

9lives.be: "In an interview with 9lives, Tekken 6 producer Katsuhiro Harada said that no Wii-version for Tekken 6 is in the work. Reason? The hardware of the Wii is too different from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Harada also said that free downloadable content will be available after the release of Tekken 6. Users won't have to pay for this DLC because Namco Bandai don't like the idea "releasing an unfinished product".

According to www.jbhifionline.com.au/ the long awaited 3D fighting game, Tekken 6 will be available in November 20th 2009.

JB HiFi is offering the limited edition 'Tekken 6 Arcade Stick Edition' bundle pack at the retail stores and online orders which is subjectively priced at AU$269.

Siliconera: When Tekken 5 came out Namco Bandai released an Ultimate Collectors Edition bundle containing the game, a DVD case, and an arcade stick. Tekken 6 might get the same treatment.

In addition to the standalone game Gamestop lists Tekken 6 "with arcade stick" for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, the product page doesn't tell us which company is making the arcade stick.

Could Hori be the manufacturer? Namco Bandai partnered with them for the Tekken 5 and Soulcalibur IV sticks. However, the bundle's suggested retail price of $149.99 is a notch too high for a Fighting Stick EX2. Perhaps, Tekken 6 will come with the more deluxe Real Arcade Pro 3 (PS3) and Real Arcade Pro EX (360) sticks.

According to the information, the Tekken franchise has sold over 33 million units worldwide and is the number one fighting game of all time.
