NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe gets working on its combos in preparation for the next instalment in the ultimate fighting franchise TEKKEN 6, scheduled for release in Europe through its distribution partnership with Infogrames Entertainment in autumn 2009 for the Xbox360 and PLAYSTATION3.
NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe has released a press release that Tekken 6 is in development and will be released Playstation 3 consoles in Fall 2009 in addition to the previously announced Xbox 360 version at TGS. SDTekken write: Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements. One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)… IGN was at the event and mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades. More news as we get it!
An upgraded version of the newest game in the Tekken series (which didn't yet hit the consoles) was announced, and will officially be exposed in the upcoming Amusement Show in Tokyo, Japan from Septmer 18th to 20th! It's called Tekken 6 : Bloodline Rebellion.
PSB writes: It looks like fighting fans may have to wait just a bit longer for Tekken 6 to hit the PS3. Earlier today, the Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion upgrade was announced for the arcade version of Tekken 6. The console version of Tekken 6 will be most likely be delayed to incorporate these new updates, possibly even into 2009.
The sixth incarnation in the Tekken franchise is scheduled for release this year on PlayStation 3 console and Arcades. Magazine GameEX recently interviewed developer Maruki Suzaki about Tekken 6, in which Suzaki revealed it will release sometime in December this year. GameEX also asked if Tekken 6 will be exclusive to PlayStation 3 in which Suzaki answered: "No. It hasn't been determined yet as of the moment, but we are developing it for PlayStation 3 so you can play it". GameEX asked if the game could maybe release on other consoles, like Xbox 360, in which Suzaki answered: "As of the moment, we have no idea".

While rumors have circulated surrounding whether or not Tekken 6 will receive a US arcade release, Arcade Renaissance takes in an inside look at the situation courtesy of the Stinger Report. Despite the lack of market demand and high prices being cited as the reasons why there is a lack of motivation on behalf of Namco Bandai's American amusement division to release the game stateside, there is an apparent push back by arcade operators who are beginning to resort to 'gray market' deals to import the games to their audience.
tekkenzaibatsu writes - "We've received word that, what might very well be the first Tekken 6 in the US, will be available to the public later this week at Planet Zero in Houston."
PS3hyper.com reports that Katsuhiro Harada, series producer including latest entry, Tekken 6, was at Taipei Game Show 2008 last weekend on SCET's (SCE Taiwan) invitation and talk to visitors about life and the game itself.
Seems like the Tekken Universe will come to life on the big screen by director Dwight Little, before in 2002 when production started, which then was seized, is now under way by Crystal Sky.
