Playstation Home gets Tekken/Soul Calibur Lounge (News)

Playstation Home and software maker's collaboration officially starts on Dec. 18, 2008 in Japan.

Bandai Namco will provide a Tekken, Soul Calibur and Ridge Racer Lounge and a bigger Namco Museum Arcade Lounge starting the 18th.

Nippon Ichi Software will start to sell items, cloths and furniture in the Home Marketplace.
Bandai Namco will also provide cloths and items in the market place.
There will also be Christmas related items and cloths from Sony Entertainment.

Right now there are already Siren Lounge and Everybody's Golf Lounge available in the Japanese Home.

An upgraded version of the newest game in the Tekken series (which didn't yet hit the consoles) was announced, and will officially be exposed in the upcoming Amusement Show in Tokyo, Japan from Septmer 18th to 20th! It's called Tekken 6 : Bloodline Rebellion.

A new, downloadable update for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online is now available for download via the PlayStation Store, Namco Bandai announced today.

Changes include:

* Pickup Match Mode - For those who want to skip the waiting room, players can now continuously face off in one-on-one matches

* DUALSHOCK®3 rumble support Â¿ Feel the impact of each blow and attack

* Room name display Â¿ Allows users to input and display names for online rooms

* "Flag" search - A network filter that enables users to better select opponents with optimal connection speeds

* New notifications Â¿ Let's waiting players know when it's their turn to fight or inform them when others have entered or left the room

* More casual matches Â¿ When Rank Match is set to Off, match results no longer affect Win/Loss record.

* Multiple bug issues have also been resolved

The online version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will finally launch on the UK PSN tomorrow.

Even though T5 on PS3 is just a (relatively low-detail) port of the PSP game, the release of the online component makes it the first Tekken game to allow fans to kick long-distance snot out of each other via the internet.

The fully-online game will cost £14.99 when it goes live tomorrow, but, ironically, if you're interested you should get the offline version now, which costs £6.99 and buy the online component tomorrow for £3.49 (saving you £4.51).

We've already played this game. Sort of. When it was released on the PSP last year. But the PS3 version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was worth the wait. Sure, it lacks the spiffy next-gen polish of a Virtua Fighter 5, which was actually designed for the PS3, but it's not a shabby looking game by any means. And the fact that it supports 1080p makes it even more visually ...

IGN recently had a chat with Tekken project director Haruki Suzaki regarding the port of Tekken: Dark Resurrection to the PS3. Suzaki revealed that the game took 2.5 months to port to the PS3 and from a technical perspective, it was very difficult to send it over to the PS3 as the machine is very powerful.
