To add a little hot sauce to the surfing, score multipliers are smattered throughout the levels and smashing into breakable walls and other surfers at high speeds can get you big points. Of course, these elements take away from the realism of the penguin surf competition, but keep the fun wackiness of the game going for quite awhile. The humor, characters and, most obviously, the difficulty of Surf's Up are geared towards a younger audience, but the game is also fun enough for anyone to play, although the simplicity might keep it from having a very long shelf life in most collections.
