European PS3 fans are still no closer to knowing when they'll be able to play stupendous downloadable fighting game Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix after both Capcom and Sony were today unable to offer any update on the game's release.

SSF2THDR, released across all territories on Xbox LIVE on November 26, is available to download on the US PlayStation store, but has so far mysteriously not appeared on the EU PlayStation store.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix developer Backbone and redrawn art overseers Udon were "worried" that Capcom might cancel the game during the early part of its troubled development, lead designer David Sirlin has revealed.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com in the second part of a mammoth post-mortem interview, due to be published later this week, Sirlin suggested that Capcom continued to support the project because of pressure from the "world of gaming".

SSF2THDR, which is out on Xbox LIVE Arcade now (it's still to appear on the PlayStation Store in Europe), suffered a high profile delay earlier in the year when redrawn art based on Udon source material was thrown out of the window and work began with a new set of artists.

Remember that crazy-awesome press kit that Capcom created for the release of Mega Man 9? Well the company has decided to do something similar for the release of another hotly anticipated downloadable title, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

In addition to the packaging and asset disc, all of which is covered with some truly fantastic art, the kit comes stuffed with all kinds of Street Fighter goodies. These include: Ryu's very own head band, a Chun-Li figurine, a comic book, and a magnetic board complete with a bunch of static cling SF characters.

Like the MM9 kit, Capcom is considering making a small number of these, 300 in this case, available to the general public via the Capcom Store. Be sure to keep an eye on the Capcom Unity blog if you want to pick one up, because if and when they do go on sale, they will undoubtedly go very quickly. And don't forget that SSFIITHDR will finally be released this week, on both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Capcom's fighting game will arrive during the super-special Thanksgiving Store update on Tuesday, November 25th. Capcom announced yesterday that Street Fighter IV would arrive in Japan in February. A U.S. release has not been set, but history proves it shouldn't be longer than a few months after its native launch in Japan.
