From now until February 14, the games listed at Siliconera will only cost HK$39 (US$5).
Dec 21, 2007

December is the month of giving and, better yet, receiving. December is the month when sugarplum visions of $400 consoles and $60 games dance through your head. And, of course, December is the month when your loved ones usually just cheap out and buy you a gift card instead.

So long as that gift card is an online points card from Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo, however, you'll be alright. With so much downloadable content available for so little money, you could stretch a few ...

During Sony's press conference at the Leipzig Game Convention, the boss of Sony Europe David Reeve detailed sales numbers on a handful of key PSN titles. Leading the pack was Tekken 5 with 103k sold, followed up by flOw with 47k sold. The really interesting thing though is that Super Rub-a-dub outsold Calling all Cars!, 34k to 31k. It's pretty bad when David Jaffe's baby can't even outsell one of the worst reviewed titles on the PSN.
Hello - is that the sound of barrels being scraped? Yes, PS3's "rubber ducks in a sink" tech demo has been turned into a downloadable game. It's quite endearing at first, mind, as you tilt the Sixaxis to guide your duck and collect baby ducks, before guiding them safely to the plughole. The wind-up shark enemies are cute, but eat your little duckling followers - so shake the pad and capsize them.

But the duck-related puns ("Quacked it" and "Billiant," anyone?) soon start to lose their appeal, ...

I guess Sony is making up for the 4 month delay in getting the PS3 to Europe by giving them some things before the rest of the world. First, it was the Gran Turismo HD update for force feedback. Today, it's Super Rub-a-Dub. The game is now available for download for 4.99 Euros. There's a demo available.

To buy the game, you have to download the demo and the game unlock file (which is what you buy). Maybe Sony should explain that a little better.

Hopefully we see this in the US sometime soon.
