Unless you've been living in a soundproof, pitch-black cave for five years, Activision's announcement of a movie-based Spider-Man 3 should come as no surprise. The company revealed the next-gen title in video form only, and even that was just the costumed arachnid bouncing from empty screen to empty screen. Yeah, it was a sharp-looking Spidey, but without some context it kinda felt like watching a superhero peep show. Rumor has it the Wii version may get some unique features (web swinging, perhaps?), but nothing regarding gameplay was touched on.

Look for more on Spider-Man 3 as details on the film solidify - it hits theaters on May 4, 2007.
