PS3 News | Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic's already sharing his next-gen outing on PS3 and Xbox 360 with fellow hedgehogs Shadow and Silver, but the game's official site recently revealed a series of unlockable guest characters - starting with Tails. His four screens show more Sonic style than, say, Shadow toting a gun, or Silver battling a robot inside a burning city - so we're glad to have the propeller-ended yellow guy ... » Read More

PS3 - Sonic the Hedgehog - TGS 06: Sony tips PS3 Japan launch hand When the PlayStation 3 goes on sale in Japan November 11, six games will definitely be available: Genji: Days of the Blade, Mah-Jong Fight Club Online, Mobile Suit Gundam: Target In Sight, Resistance: Fall of Man, Sega Golf Club featuring the Miyazato Family, and--wait for it--Ridge Racer 7. Sony also confirmed Armored Core 4 would arrive sometime in November.

In December, Sony has locked down a trio of games: F1 Championship (aka Formula One 06), Gran Turismo HD, and MotorStorm. Three more carry a general "winter 2006" release date in Japan: Need for Speed Carbon, Enchant Arm, and the railroad sim Railfan. Another pair will ship during "2006": Sonic the Hedgehog and Fatal Inertia, though the later is only "projected" to make that vague release window.

According to Sony, 2007 will see at least 12 more PS3 titles come to market across the Pacific. Virtua Fighter 5, Virtua Tennis 3, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Monster Kingdom: Unknown Realms, The Eye of Judgment, and Wangan Midnight will all arrive in the "spring," while Everybody's Golf 5 and Warhawk will land in the "summer." Other games confirmed for the year are Afrika (working title), Coded Arms: Assault, and the much-awaited Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Sony listed a sextet of several high-profile titles with the most nebulous release date of all, "TBD." Those included Shirokishi, fl0w (working title), Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War, Devil May Cry 4, and Final Fantasy XIII.

Monday 7 August 2006 Even though Sonic reaches the ripe old age of 15 this year, these latest shots from his next-gen game, Sonic the Hedgehog, show no signs that he's going to be slowing down any time soon. The game - which is being developed by Sega's Sonic Team - is designed to capture the blistering speed of the hedgehog's 2D roots and combine it with gorgeous visuals, courtesy of Xbox 360 and PS3 power. PS3 News | Sonic the Hedgehog
As part of the ongoing deluge on new Sonic material, Sega's let loose no fewer than 20 new screens of the PS3 and 360 Sonic the Hedgehog. We knew Sonic wouldn't be alone, as telekinetic Silver the Hedgehog has already been revealed as a major player, but now we can see Shadow breaking loose - this time completely gun-free. You'll see plenty of Sonic shredding through dense vegetation and Shadow looking relatively menacing, but the new screens also reveal a volcano area littered with tiny ... » Read More

PS3 News from N4G | Sonic the Hedgehog
PS3 - Sonic the Hedgehog - Hands-On: Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic is back and ready for action, and he's brought along a new friend for his next-gen debut.

After years of disappointing installments and broken promises, Sega looks to be going back to their roots with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Sonic the Hedgehog. We recently had the opportunity to play through the latest build of the game and so far the results are looking quite promising. While the game is still in early development, we're wagering that once it launches, you may just be picking bugs out of your teeth - it's that fast.

Sonic's latest adventure centers on a mysterious new world, one ruled over by a beautiful human princess. For ages, the kingdom has protected a mysterious jewel that is encased in a necklace that hangs around the princess's neck. Unfortunately for her, the jewel is a powerful Chaos Emerald. Dr. Eggman, hearing of the existence of the Emerald, soon attacks the kingdom, hoping to harness the power of the jewel for himself. Sonic, hearing of his arch-rival's evil plans, rushes out to save not only the damsel in distress, but also the entire kingdom.

PS3 News | Sonic the Hedgehog
It doesn't really matter how long you've been gaming - you know who Sonic the Hedgehog is. Ever since his first appearance on the Sega Genesis in 1991, the hyperactive hedgehog has consistently been one of the most popular characters in video game history. To honor his longevity, SEGA's trumpeting its new, next-gen Sonic the Hedgehog game, due later this year, as well as an enhanced remake of the original Genesis game, only for Game Boy Advance. The new version will incorporate Sonic's spin ... » Read More

We found two new screens from the upcoming adventures of Sonic on the next-gen systems, which is currently going under the unoriginal name of Sonic the Hedgehog. Check them by clicking here. These two images feature the quilled quicky prominently upstaging Dr. Robotnik's mechanical ... » Read More

PS3 News | Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic's first PS3/Xbox 360 game is still several months away, but that's not stopping him from strutting his stuff well in advance. The catch to these new screens, however, isn't the grisly new world that the hedgehog's trying to save, but rather the first images of the telekinetic Silver. As we mentioned in our earlier hands-on, Silver doesn't share Sonic's blistering speed (and rough, tumbly gameplay). Instead, he can manipulate objects, projectiles and even portions of the levels themselves ... » Read More

PS3 News | Sonic the Hedgehog
Tuesday 16 May 2006 We've rounded up a few stray PlayStation 3 shots of Sonic the Hedgehog, the next-gen platformer that will be released for both PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Sonic Team's idea behind this latest Sonic game is to go back to basics in an attempt to harness the speed and attitude that made the original Mega Drive Sonic such a huge hit way back in 1991. Significantly, though, it will be using the power of next-gen consoles Xbox 360 and PS3 in order to make the action as ... » Read More

Tuesday 9 May 2006 Mere moments after the conclusion of Sony's pre-E3 conference, we managed to knacker a PS3 with our very own hands - and we weren't even trying. As the speeches and announcements drew to a close, attendees were given the opportunity to play PS3 for the very first time. Only a handful of pods were set up around the Los Angeles auditorium - but we made sure that we elbowed our way to the front of the queues. Our efforts were initially rewarded with being able to play Sonic ... » Read More
