As promised the Skate demo arrived on the Xbox Live Marketplace this morning, and here's a playtest so you can hear some initial hands-on thoughts.
After being held up for six days, EA's Skate demo has finally arrived on Xbox live, begging to be downloaded and obsessed over. Joystiq is just a tad bit obsessed with it themselves, going as far as calling it "a spiritual experience." Will you reach gaming nirvana as well? Not unless you can achieve that state within thirty minutes of this timed demo.
EA has posted up on their message boards that the demo of Skate has been delayed for a few days, but it shouldn't be for longer than a week. However, the retail ship dates are still good, with the game expcted to be available on September 12 for the Xbox 360 and September 24 for the PS3.
EA announced today that its award winning video game, Skate, will ship to retail stores on September 12 in the U.S. and September 14 in Europe for the Xbox 360. The PS3 version will ship to stores on September 24 in the U.S. and October 5 in Europe. For players eager to get their hands on the game pre-launch, EA will release a SKATE demo on Xbox Live Marketplace on August 15 so players can experience first-hand the title's groundbreaking new gameplay style.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and its sequels have always been known to have impressive soundtracks full of licensed songs. Naturally, Electronic Arts looks to outmaneuver the Activision series with music in its upcoming rival skateboarding title, SKATE. The new game, which appears on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Autumn 2007, is set to boast 45 songs from artists such as David Bowie, Nirvana, N.W.A. and The Ramones. German game site www.gameguide.nl posted today the ultimate list of 160 game tittles in production for the ps3.
