Silent Hill: Homecoming

E3 07: Silent Hill V announced

Horror king to come to 360, PS3, with all-new story, characters, monsters

Today Konami announced Silent Hill V at its E3 press conference. The game, which is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, features an all new main character known as Alex Shepherd. The brief snippet of poorly acted dialogue Konami played - audio-only, and the only actual game content that was revealed - was a brief monologue about how "war is hell" and how he "doesn't want to go home."

It turns out that Alex is a soldier, recently returned home from an unspecified overseas conflict, to find his family in disarray. His father has abandoned them, his mother is in a catatonic state, and his beloved younger brother Joshua has gone missing.

The game's producer, William Oertel, promised that SHV will mark a return to the scares the series is known for, and suggested that it will feature the most disturbing monsters yet. Of course, series creator Akira Yamaoka is returning to compose an all-new soundtrack for the game.
