American rockers Stone Temple Pilots is made up of Scott Weiland on vocals, Robert DeLeo on bass, Dead DeLeo on guitar and Eric Kretz on drums and has found a wealth of success in the alternative rock genre since their debut album, Core, was released in 1992. Its already been announced that the Stone Temple Pilots fan favourite, Plush, will be featured on the Rock Band 3 soundtrack, joining the already-available Interstate Love Song, Sex Type Thing and Vasoline, but next week, fans can get their hands on some additional Stone Temple Pilots tracks with a six pack of songs from the band.

Harmonix and MTV Games have announced tracks from The Jimi Hendrix Experiences classic album, Are You Experienced, these will be added this week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content (DLC) for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. These additions put the Rock Band Music Library at more than 2,000 songs available prior to the launch of Rock Band 3. With all of this new content, the designers behind Rock Band 3 have done a serious makeover on the Music Library and how you sort, filter and play music.
Rock Band is set to receive a whole lot of geek cred, through the addition of a single song: Airbrushed, by Anamanaguchi. The US four-piece, who gave us the glorious soundtracks for both Bit.Trip Runner and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game will be the first chiptune act to appear in the music-simulator program, when they pop up with Airbrushed in early 2011.
