PS3 Review
Dec 17, 2007 [Editor's Note: Some of you may notice that our PS3 and 360 reviews of this game are the same, but the PS3 version has scored lower. This is not a typo. The two versions have identical content and both are fantastic. However, the PS3 version sometimes moves at a chuggy, stuttery pace, and has notably longer loading times. These faults have earned it a lower score.] Let's not dwell too much on the original mod for Quake and Half-Life - that was ten years ago, not everyone played ...

PS3 Review
We've already played this game. Sort of. When it was released on the PSP last year. But the PS3 version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was worth the wait. Sure, it lacks the spiffy next-gen polish of a Virtua Fighter 5, which was actually designed for the PS3, but it's not a shabby looking game by any means. And the fact that it supports 1080p makes it even more visually ...

Like the game of golf itself, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 on PlayStation 3 is at once exhilarating and heartbreaking. It's a near-exact clone of the 360 version - the only real differences are Sixaxis-enabled control tweaks and a targeting reticule that's become a blinking arrow, not a circle. Which means the game is so pretty your retinas will literally crawl out of your eye sockets, run down to your lips and kiss you - but the sugary glitz comes at the expense of big, meaty chunks of ...

Aug 31, 2007 Tiger Woods has been running roughshod over hapless golfers for more than a decade now. Much like his legendary bank account, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 sports an embarrassment of riches. Packed to the gills with features and modes, EA's annual golf outing is a rousing success - provided you're willing to put in some work. After all, beating The Man doesn't come easy. It's tough to compete with the big boys at first, since your created character starts as a flat-out terrible hack. ...

PS3 - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09

While EA are busy making sports games like Fight Night, NBA Street Homecourt, FIFA and NBA Live among the best looking titles ever crafted by the hands of man, Tiger missed the makeover bus. It’s a sad state that Links 2004 on the original Xbox STILL looks better than the latest Tiger title. Sure, Tiger has the animations and the resolution, but Links is prettier, less synthetic, and somehow richer. But hey, at least we get some new ...

Gun nuts. Even gamings got 'em. It's these peripheral-happy, armchair assassins that make moderate successes out of light-gun games like Time Crisis in spite of high costs and little replay value. If you've already played Time Crisis 4 in your local movie theater, bowling alley, or any other venue standing in bold defiance of the death of the arcade game, you probably know what you're in for. The short sweet port is here in all its intended glory, although this quarter muncher is a tad more ...

Dec 13, 2007 It's been a tough year to be a first-person shooter. With the bar being set ludicrously high by games like The Orange Box, and Call of Duty 4, we are in a golden age of action titles. It's a bit hard, then, to recommend the fourth-dimensional shooter TimeShift amongst such a crowded field. Don't be mistaken - this is a solid offering - but its paint-by-numbers design and undercooked story will have a tough time holding your attention, though its multiplayer mode will be the ...

PS3 - TNA Impact! - TNA Impact!

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that you can take on a huge gaming franchise either by being a much better game or having a stronger IP. TNA Impact! manages to do neither with such style and grace that we’re frankly a little impressed. ...

Aug 20, 2007 After last year's disappointing and watered-down PS2 port of the first GRAW title, this is PlayStation's first proper look at Ubisoft's reinvigorated tactical shooter. An extension of the original Ghost Recon series, Advanced Warfighter is set a little further into the future - we're now shooting the happy residents of 2014 - and is more heavily focused on the sophisticated battle gear of tomorrow than the early titles. It's also a massive graphical leap over its predecessors, ...

Counter-terrorist teams dont often arrive as late as Rainbow Six. Originally scheduled to appear as a launch title, if this had been a real hostage situation, then everyone would have already been shot or died of starvation. But despite forcing us to wait around for ages, Rainbow Six Vegas is definitely here to deliver. Its a slick combination of strategy, focused aggression and all-out nerves of steel. Focus is an important word, because this is anything but a run- and-gun FPS. Survival ...
