PS3 Review
For whatever base reason, there are few things in this world that are more purely hilarious than watching other human beings hurt themselves in spectacular ways. It's the reason we watch NASCAR crashes, gruesome skateboard wipeouts and reruns of Jackass. It's also the reason that PAIN, a downloadable PlayStation Network game about flinging yourself at high speeds against buildings, is so relentlessly entertaining. The setup is simple: you've got one indestructible idiot, one giant slingshot ...

PS3 Review
It's very rare that the videogame off-shoot of a blockbuster movie lets you feel like you're in the movie. This is one of those times. Never before has a game looked so much like its source material. But don't go firing a ten cannon salute just yet - it's got plenty of issues that threaten to spoil the party. The game is primarily a fighting game with free movement. You walk into an area, get pounced on by a bunch of bad guys and then see them off with a variety of attacks. You unlock ...

PS3 - PixelJunk Eden - PS3 Network - PixelJunk Eden – PS3 Network

There weren’t many takers in the office to review this one. After all, it’s a platform game in which the objective is to grow plants by pollinating them. Hardly inspirational stuff when we could be swatting Stormtroopers in The Force Unleashed instead. And true to form, the first couple of minutes left us utterly confused and dismissive before things suddenly clicked. ...

PS3 - PixelJunk Monsters - PS3 Network - PixelJunk Monsters - PS3 Network No one wants to see a village full of cute little monsters perish at the hands of a plague of spiders. So killing them is your motivation for replacing all the trees in a forest with cannons, gun towers and anti-aircraft missiles. Admittedly Greenpeace might not approve. PixelJunk Monsters’ hand-drawn 2D visuals give it a cutesy look, but they hide a deceptively deep real-time strategy game. Just not your typical one, because instead of ...

PS3 Review
Sept 27, 2007 This is one odd ride. When you first see PixelJunk Racers, its top-down view might remind you of old arcade racing games like Championship Sprint, Super Off Road, or even Death Race. (Want these games? Click here!) But it's actually based upon even older source material: those toy slot car race tracks so many of us used to thrash when we were kids. But then you notice that the 10 or so tracks here each have five lanes and as many as 70-80 cars on them at a given time, and realize ...

PS3 Review
Dec 17, 2007 [Editor's Note: Some of you may notice that our PS3 and 360 reviews of this game are the same, but the PS3 version has scored lower. This is not a typo. The two versions have identical content and both are fantastic. However, the PS3 version sometimes moves at a chuggy, stuttery pace, and has notably longer loading times. These faults have earned it a lower score.] You're probably here to read about Portal, Valve's first-person puzzle game about opening rifts in space to cross ...

PS3 Review
Nov 8, 2007 Anticlimactic. That's how it felt when, having craved next-gen PES since the dawn of PS3, we finally got to play a finished (or supposedly finished, but more on that in a minute) copy. PES 2008 just doesn't feel like a bold step into the future. At first, it feels like little more than a shinier version of PES6. But the clue, as ever, is in the word 'evolution'. PES 2008, like each new addition to the series, has evolved - it's just that this year's evolution isn't as obvious as ...

PS3 - Pure - Pure

Riding ATVs is something we don’t get around to doing that often. As a result, Pure is a wonderful exercise in escapism, taking you away from the daily grind and into a high-octane environment in which you’re able to zoom around beautiful countryside without a care in the world. ...
