As AT mentioned yesterday, the new patch of Resistance: Fall of Man has hit and it includes an interesting new function: the ability to take screenshots with a USB keyboard that saves directly to the PS3's hard drive. That plus the ability to upload screenshots and replays that shipped with Halo 3 has created a market for community-based experience sharing in console games, and it's nice to see other devs trying to emulate the same effects with other games.

Sega's Football Manager 2008 has entered the UK's all-formats chart at number one this week, knocking EA's FIFA 08 off the top spot.

Accounting for 38 per cent of all PC titles sold in the past week, Sports Interactive's management sim is Sega's first multiformat number one title since last year's version of the popular football franchise.

Earlier this year, Sony sent a letter of apology to the Church of England over using Manchester Cathedral as a setting for Resistance: Fall of Man without permission. "It was not our intention to cause offense by using a representation of Manchester Cathedral in chapter eight of the work," the letter said. "If we have done so, we sincerely apologize." Now, the Church of England is pleading with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to withdraw the game from a list of seven contenders for the academy's video game award. According to the Associated Press, the category Resistance: Fall of Man is listed in is the only one in which fans will decide the winner.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has appealed to UK gamers to vote for their favourite titles in the PC World Gamers' Award.

The category is the only one at this year's BAFTA 2007 Video Game Awards that will be decided by the public. Closing date for an entry is Wednesday 17th October 2007. The winner will be announced at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, London on Tuesday, October 23.

The full PC World Gamers' Award shortlist features 8 titles:
