I don't think there are any online options. Just single-player, unless something unlocks when you finish the game...

on prototype , can you go online ?? if ya can what do u get to do . ? can u play with other people and have two prototypes rampaging through the city ? great review , i agree with everything . apart from the graphics, it's the 360 platform holding it back . if prototype was exclusive to ps3 . there would be no flaws in graphics, movement smoothness rough edges or glithces and freezing=]

Prototype is more of a guilty pleasure, Infamous is more substantial and much longer and more evolved game. Ultimately Infamous is a deeper game, it's a longer game and has much better "open world" elements and replay value. However, the first 30 minutes of Protoype is probably the best first 30 minutes of game play of any game released in this generation. It is really amazing in terms of scale and action on screen, you get a pretty amazing cut scene then are thrown into a huge action sequence - IMHO this was the best part of the game. Issues I had with the game, is I was a huge Hulk Unleashed fan and they did little to disguise the exact same mechanics in Prototype, so some of the game felt a bit too familiar. I think b/c I played Hulk Unleashed and was very familiar with the controls there was no really build up in terms of challenge. Pretty much blasted through the entire game (took me about two days). One big complaint, 5 minutes of traversal running across the entire city to get from mission to mission felt forced and like an artificial way to make the game seem longer. No real motivation to do the secondary’s in the game, they seemed inconsequential, if you have played Spiderman it felt like the systemic crimes taking place in that game. But I don't want to spin this too negative, I enjoyed the game, but I would put it in the rental category. It is way better than Wanted, but about has good as Xmen Origins: Wolverine (liked this game too).

Now the inflammatory; with all the complaints and questions about integrity of the Infamous review, why would GR use the same reviewer on Prototype? After the review given to Infamous and the premise that Prototype was going to be a better game (based on the limited play by the reviewer at that time) there is no way that the reviewer could be objective and contradict himself in this review. My opinion is the opposite, but I do think Prototype is very good. It is hard for me to be satisfied and feel like this site did a fair or just assessment.

I really like this game now that i have spent about 5 hours on it... at first it looked like a wash up version of gta3 lets face it they could have done a whole lot better to nyc then they did but the more i played the more i liked it

Mikel,
It looks like drushi1 was right. Prototype is sitting at 77 on Metacritic (and will probably go lower) while inFamous is at 85 (with almost 80 reviews - which means that it will stay there). Your opinion about the quality of these games apparently sucks. You get praise from all these sheep for sharing your opinion on the game, but its apparently a dumb opinion. Do you think that Rosie O'Donnell is hotter than Jessica Biel? Do you prefer KIAs to Porches. Does it make you brave to say that a lame game is good - no it just makes you look dumb.

I'm going to have to agree Mikel,inFamous and Prototype are substantially different games. Though if comparison is absolutely necessary (which it seems to be) I would give it to Prototype due to is open world brawler-esque game-play style, inFaMOUS just seems too constricted and bland next to Prototype, but inFamous does have a better replay value.

I've had this game for a while, as well as Infamous, and both are amazing. However, the sheer enormity of upgrades in [PROTOTYPE] starts to seem a little rediculous after a while. Alas, great game. You think there might be a second Infamous? I felt like the ending kinda left you hanging, left you waiting for that ultimate fight with "The Beast".

HOW DID IT GET A 9!?!? The game was ugly, hard, and cost $60! I would give it a 2 out of 10.

Ya know at 1st i was mad with the score you gave infamous compared to this but then again its a matter of opinion. Personally, i liked them both about the same except that i can beat infamous in about a day or 2 just doing the main storyline but i can beat prototype in about 3 hours. it was way too short in my opinion.
