Love this bonertastic game, Only in Prototype can you have Carnage's and Hulks powers compacted into one, pluse with the extreme parkour Alex can pull off, he'll hunt down Faith and Consume the living hell out of her
If visuals suck, shouldn't it at least be an 8? I figure that since you'll be invested in the game for up to 10 hours, you kinda need a visual incentive.
Looks I Will Be Getting This On 360 And Infamous For My Ps3 So Their Is No Civil War In My Household because as the documentary transformers taught us all electronics are just robots in disguise.
At about 1:30 in the video Alex falls a thousand feet and then lands on the ground without a sound. Anyway, I like games that have the first level with all the unlocked stuff. It's a nice tutorial and it shows what the game's capable of. And I love mindlessly killing people, with the only reasons being that they tried to kill me first and I like blood. In games, that is...muahahahahahaa
Well, here we go now.
Wow only 13 reveiws of prototype at the time I write this on Metacritic and already it sits at a 86...doesn't bode too well. Why do you write a speacial little coment "just for you" metacritic when you are going to be one of the few reveiws this game gets that is so positive? I know none of that matters for you does it Mikel, but that's ok we know how much you loooove this game. At least my intuition about not listening to this sites bull shit reveiws is affirmed and I don't have to worry about that anymore. I just can't believe that a game that looks like complete crap would get a 9 from this place, it even shocked me Mikel! Maybe you are trying to stir up as many responses as the infamous review did? Do you have like a bet with all the other editors/reviewers about how many resposes you can get or something? lol well if you do I like the strategy.
Anyways, back to my original point which is we will see how this all flushes out on Metacritic, but as I said when I see a game like Infamous with 75 reveiws and its at a score of 85 still, I know that is a good game. When I see a game with a score of 86 but only 13 reveiws, I know that score is going to drop down more by the time all the reveiws are in. In the end I am happy with playing Infamous over Prototype, but if you enjoyed the prototype game over the infamous one good for you, you make being wrong look good Mikel lol.
For now though Mikel you should get back to answering the fans of your reveiw like the chap who can't quite seem to figure out if the game has multiplayer or not..... not a big mystery to me why he likes your review so much is it?
It amazes me how hostile people get over a review. IGN has 822 comments currently full of people who just can't enjoy reading an article and moving on.
Disclamer: I am in no way agreeing or disagreeing with Mikel's review.
That said, to my question. I'm sure the gameplay is fantastic and it's fun to just kill stuff, but how quickly does that become boring? What sort of other features does this game sport? Mikel mentioned unlocking skills, which peaked my interest a little. However, is there actual strategy involved in using these skills, or can you just button mash your way thru? How repetitive are the missions? For me, mindless button mashers get boring and I find myself playing stuff with more depth to them.
I would appreciate for those who have played it to let me know if this is really just a pretty button masher or if there is strategy and thought involved. Thanks in advance.
Okay, I lied, I'm not finished. I had a thought to convey. This is directed at the people who have nothing positive to say about someone's review.
Reviews from these kind of sites are professional in nature. If you don't like one person's review, why don't you seek a second opinion? In the real world, when a doctor gives someone bad news and they dont agree with the treatment, do they yell "OMG Noob!" and storm out of the doctor's office?
That would be funny to watch happen, but I have yet to see it. Perhaps gamers that are upset with a review should share a similar mentality with the added note that this is a game and nothing to get that upset over. Life is too short.
If you like InFamous over Prototype, why are you complaining about a review from a reviewer who doesn't have the same game taste as you?
Everybody has there own game taste "Chap". If the game scores a 7 or an 8 or a 9 on metacritic, Who cares, Do you base your life completely on what others say? Most normal people will try the game before they bust a nut over a complete strangers opinion.
this is a game where you can really fight be your own rules go into a gun fight with your arm as a blade and win or sneak in under the disguise of a commander
Listen to El Pork, stop living your life based off of Metacritic scores. Play the game for yourself if you like it good for you, if you don't oh well. Stop getting butt hurt because someone wrote a review you disagree with. Move on, go play with a shit stencil, go do something that makes you happy. You just look like a stupid stupid fanboy when you make posts about Metacritic scores.
Fanboy bullshit aside, I loved InFamous, and would buy Prototype in a second the new Red Faction didn't look so damn tasty. Maybe some other day, though. Great review, btw, except you should try InFamous on full-power evil before calling it "restrained".
Great review Mikel, well explained, and even though i still dont agree with ur inFamous review i'm not gonna sit her and whine about it like a fucking 6 year old, everyone has different tastes and opinions about everything and if u haven't figured that out yet, then ur retarted. Oh and @Howetzer, i hate feeding the troll in these situations but i just can't help myself, go suck a dick and die :)
Bought the game last night and after playing a few hours I can say that a) it earned the high scores it got and b)I don't see this game getting old any time soon.
Thanks Mikel!
Also regarding the visuals, I did notice some objects not appearing until you got close to them, installing to the 360 hdd fixes this.
