after playing the game much today i see what you mean. the controls when your trying to be precise can be frustrating and the visuals are bad at some times. but the gameplay completely makes up for it. so much stuff is going on onscreen that unless you're looking for it, you won't even notice the visuals. 9/10 for sure.
look i mean this in the most none fanboyish way possible. I own all three systems and just enjoy playing games. But i feel that this grade/the infamous grade are both flawed. After playing inFamous and (note) only getting have way through this game i think that infamous is a better, albeit a different game. The world feels more fleshed out, the graphics look better, and there are more than just 5 different side missions. While in Prototype everything looks really blocky and looks like Radical hasnt improved the graphics from their last game, HULK. Also the people in Prototype seem like they are just there, for no reason, there is very little attachment to them and the city as a whole. Also in gamesradar review of inFamous, they reference the convoluted story as a negative, Prototypes isnt much better. The scene keeps switching between present and past where Alex is talking to a guy on a phone who you dont know who that person is. There is very little attachment to the characters besides Alex because Radical just throws characters at you. Your sister, your ex-girlfriend and so on.
Look i am not saying infamous doesnt have its faults, which it does. but to say that Prototype is 20% better than infamous i feel is a major error.
I know i am going to get flamed this is my opinion i love the podcast, but the reviews ....not so much.
Also if you dont believe i have played Prototype check my gamercard on XBOX LIVE

@zandy: Uh... I'm pretty sure I never complained about inFamous' story. I actually pointed it out as one of the game's better points. Maybe you misunderstood?
Also, I have to disagree with you about the people in Prototype. They're there because A) Manhattan is an extremely populous borough, and B) you can eat them. They're walking health packs/disguise kits. They also panic en masse when you attack, which people in inFamous rarely did.
Finally, when was the last time you played Hulk: Ultimate Destruction? I played it yesterday, and I can tell you there's a pretty big difference in graphical quality between it and Prototype. (It also wasn't Radical's last game - that was Crash: Mind Over Mutant.)
But with that said, thanks for reading and sharing your opinion.
No problem again, thanks for getting back, that is why i like coming to this site as opposed to others, the feed back to the community makes it feel like i am more than a faceless mob member. Also i re-read your infamous review and noticed i was wrong sorry about that. I still disagree with the graphics and feel they are about equal to the game legendary, which was a bad graphical game that came out last year.
On your third point the last time i played Hulk was about 3 years ago when i was trying to destroy some of my back log of games.
Finally i know this is my opinion but unless the game of Prototype gets much better, I don't feel like it should get a 9. Again that is my opinion.
Thanks for the quick responses and hope the podcast tonight is epic.
@GamesRadarMikelReparaz
I really have to response to this because you are very wrong about the fact that people in Infamous are wrong.
The people in Infamous have way more interactions with you than the people in prototype. When you are evil, they throw stones at you, beat you and run away from you. When you are good, they cheer at you and take your photos. Moreover, you can even hear their different conversations about you when you are good or evil. They do scream and walk away when you are in a battle with enemies. They will even help you attack the enemies when you are good. They will even sometimes walk to you and ask you to help them with something. There are even two TV broadcasts in it.Since you said you could eat people in Prototype,I want to point out that you can do way more things to the pedestrians in Infamous. You can heal them, suck electrical power out of people, restrain them and kill them with different powers.
If you don't even know these things in Infamous, how can you write the review of Infamous? Now I am having more doubt in your review.
@Doletskaya: Did I, at any point, say that people in inFamous don't do all those things? Because if I did, I invite you to point it out.
What I said was that they rarely panic en masse when attacked. That's all. Don't be so touchy.
And now that I think about it, I'm pretty certain I specifically mentioned some of those behaviors in the inFamous review. Now I'm having doubts that you've actually read it.
@Mr. Reparaz: I think that you aren't going to have nearly as many responses to this review as you did for Infamous. Why? People seem to gravitate toward controversy and console exclusives that don't score an 8 or higher. You're review is tasteful and actually caters to all audiences. Something the fanboys aren't quite used to. Seriously good review.
With that said, I'd like to point you all in the direction of the IGN review. I understand that personal taste obviously flows into any and all reviews, but Eric here seems to have been misled. I won't lie that I've been looking forward to Prototype for a long time, but almost everything this guy says is outrageous. Which is exactly what this game is supposed to be about.
YAY! let's all get really pissy and annoying by saying that Mikel is stupid and give our own opinions and act as if we are the professional game reviewers! Personally, I can see why Mikel gave Prototype a 9 and inFamous a 7. On multiple occasions he states the reasons that they were given such scores. If you think that the games were judged poorly, then why are you bothering to spam the review articles? Just go to some other website and read their review. If their reviews gave the games the same scores, go check another site, and if this happens again, take a moment and think something incomprehensible to you, YOU MIGHT BE WRONG! (shocker ain't it?). so if you come to this site to blast comments about how you disagree with the score given to a game and therefore you are right and the professionals are wrong, GO AWAY. No one cares about what you think. If you disagree, fine, but you don't need to piss and moan about it. Thank you.
Mikel you have no shame! As much as a ps3fanboy you are you still scored this game higher over the ps3 exclusive. That should tell fans something... exclusives aren't always the better game! Good review.
GrantG,
You don't have to check many of the major review sites to see that inFamous is a better game. IGN gave it a 9.2/10, Gamespot gave it a 9/10, and 1up.com gave it a 91%. Thus far, IGN has given Prototype a 7.5/10 and 1up.com has given it a 67%. It'll be interesting to see if Gamespot even gives it in the 8's (I predict 7.5/10). The only poor reviews of inFamous are from lame game sites like Superconsolemonkey.com, Eurogamer (big surprise), and this site. I bet Prototype settles out in the 70's on Metacritic which sounds to be about right based on its reception from trusted sources. I realize that this review is just one person's opinion, but its kind of an injustice for those that might read it and go buy it over inFamous.
You know what all I got to say is that this review and inFamous' review are a bunch of biased crap. Check out IGN, Gametrailers or even Gameinformer for fair reviews that say it like it is, not this crappy website. On a side note, I do love your articles, but I am beginning to find your reviews distasteful.
