PS3 - Hail to the Chimp - Hail to the Chimp

Ear muffs, children. The Lion King has to step down. We know - we're all reeling from the news, but the abolishment of a monarchy doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. It seems the animal kingdom has banded together and "accomplished" a certain "mission" our government can't seem to do, and whipped a little democracy on a populace desperately in need of leadership. ...

PS3 Preview | Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Weve all been horribly misled about Episode Two. We ended Episode One steaming out of City 17 on a train as the Citadel exploded, but it crashed and we heard Alyx cry out. The next thing we saw was her dangling from a smashed bridge in the Episode Two trailer, then her limp body being carried by a Vortigaunt. And OK, the savvy among us probably realized she wasnt dead, but it was pretty clear shed been badly hurt in the crash and would be out of action for most of the episode. Utterly untrue. ...

PS3 Preview | Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
Playing Rockstars Bully made us realize how fun games set in school can be. And also made us wonder why EA has never made free-roaming, school-based Harry Potter games - obviously substituting the cricket bat weapons for magic wands and the bike-stealing with flying brooms. Surely nothing would be better than getting to explore the vast Hogwarts, go to Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons and unleash “Petrificus Totalus” on Professor Snape. Well, youre about to find out, because ...

PS3 - Haze - Hands-on with Haze

At first glance, Haze looks like a generic shooter with stereotypical marine jocks in armored suits shooting up terrorists in the name of freedom. But looks can be deceiving, and in Haze, nothing is as it seems. You’ll play the role of Shane Carpenter. Fresh out of college and full of good intentions, Carpenter joins the ranks of Mantel Global Industries, a private army for hire that sells its services for the good of ...

PS3 Preview | Haze
Aug 16, 2007 Free Radical is concerned about Haze. With the developer's much-quoted leanings toward more mature gaming, challenging censorship boundaries and raging against monkeys, it's worried that we might be forgetting to ask some important questions. What about leading man Shane Carpenter's defection halfway through the game? And what impact does his switch of sides, from super-tech Mantel Corp. army to rebel force The Promise Hand, have on the gameplay? We've been shipped up to Free ...

PS3 Preview | Haze
The honeycombed body armor of the biologically enhanced guns for hire in Haze didn't exactly excite us at first glance. After all, their bee-like design looks better suited for pumping up cereal with some nutritionally balanced breakfast fun than putting a sting on sinister international conspiracies. But despite the somewhat silly looking character design, Haze sports what promises to be a chilling and mature story. The game throws you in the shoes of Shane Carpenter, a soldier of fortune ...

PS3 Preview | Haze
Its difficult not to have a soft spot for likeable cartoon shooter Timesplitters, even if it did look a little bit, well, French. But next-gen debut Haze is set to take a more serious outlook. Gone are the pop culture stereotypes, in are moral questions about life, death and the life of a soldier. No, ...

After confirming the existence of Haze, devloper Free Radical's next-gen and PC shooter, Ubisoft was keen to show us just how the game will turn out.
