PS3 Preview | Genji: Days of the Blade
No matter how hard it tries, Genji: Days of the Blade will never, ever shake the stigma of its giant enemy crabs. One of the beasts was revealed during the E3 expo in May, and ever since, Genji has been the stuff of thousands of internet in-jokes. But behind those humongous crustaceans lurks a fast-paced, hauntingly pretty samurai epic that's finally looking ready for prime time. While we haven't been too impressed with it in the past, Genji has rapidly shaped up since the last time we saw it. ...

PS3 Preview | Genji: Days of the Blade
It's no secret that the upcoming samurai epic Genji: Days of the Blade (aka Genji 2) has a tough road ahead of it. Its awkward debut at Sony's pre-E3 press conference has become the stuff of Internet legend, thanks to the phrase "actual historical battles" being followed almost immediately by "giant enemy crab." And while it's certainly beautiful, its gameplay doesn't seem all that removed from the PS2 Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. Granted, there's a lot of it we haven't yet seen. We haven't, ...

PS3 Preview | Genji: Days of the Blade
• Genji 2 gameplay footage (WMV, 10.7MB) - right-click to download Tuesday 9 May 2006 One of the playable offerings at Sony's pre-E3 conference was samurai slasher sequel, Genji 2, and we took a few moments to really get to grips with it. You can take a look at the game in action at the conference by clicking the link above. Set three years after the original PS2 version and billed as a "traditional" action/adventure by Sony, this follow-up boasts the chance to switch between characters ...

PS3 Preview | Genji: Days of the Blade
The original Genji for PS2 was a beautiful and engaging - if short - samurai action game. The PS3 title looks like more of the same. The big difference is that the visuals are amped-up considerably for the series' PS3 debut. Check out our trailer, linked from the "movies" tab above, to see for yourself. The fine level of detail really brings the world of Genji to life. The level begins with a burning castle, with fire all around and heat warping your view. Every so often when you play, the ...

PS3 - Ghostbusters The Video Game - Ghostbusters vs the Real Ghostbusters

When Atari's Ghostbusters games ship next year, it'll have been a mere 25 years since Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson first donned their proton packs for the big screen and "Who you gonna call?" was a national catch phrase. In that time there have been a number of videogames that attempted to bring the loveable foursome home, but none have really captured the core spirit of the films. Until now. ...

PS3 - Ghostbusters The Video Game - Cripes! Five Atari games you'll actually want to play

With ex-Sony man Phil Harrison on board and fingers in practically every gaming pie (thanks to distribution deals with publishers the world over), and a brand that everyone recognises, Atari has the foundations in place to become great once again. But, most shockingly, it's actually got some great games to back it up. Here are five games Atari were showing off that we reckon you're going to want to play. ...

PS3 - Ghostbusters The Video Game - Ghostbusters The Video Game - hands on

As I stepped out of the Ecto-1 and stood on the steps of the New York Public Library alongside Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis (Bill Murray isn’t along for this particular call) listening to the team chatter, Ghostbusters’ Associate Producer Ryan French explained that my experimental proton pack was fully loaded for the purposes of this demo. ...

PS3 - Ghostbusters The Video Game - Ghostbusters - hands-on

For children of the '80s, there are many pop culture touchtones - just watch VH1 on any given Sunday and you will see dozens of examples. One of the biggest was Ghostbusters, and after two decades since Ghostbusters II and the series' descent into nostalgic obscurity, it's making a return in a big way to consoles and PC. That is a damn sight better than Extreme Ghostbusters...

Granted, thanks to the wonders of the internet and ...

PS3 Preview | Ghostbusters The Video Game
Dec 12, 2007 There's nothing quite like a comeback story to capture the imagination. In 1989, the Ghostbusters were down and out, broke and about as popular as a council health inspector about to rupture a spirit containment system. Forced to suffer the ignominy of making guest appearances at the parties of ungrateful snot-nosed brats in exchange for a few bucks, the boys in boiler suits were about as low as they could get without actually being scalded by the Earth's ...

PS3 Preview | The Godfather II
PS3 - The Godfather II - The Godfather II

Shrouded in secrecy for almost two years, we can’t quite believe how open everyone is about Godfather II. The game is being developed in the heart of EA at the romantically named Redwood Shores just outside San Francisco. The name alone conjures up images of a relaxed life, a sun-soaked resort and a place to escape the stresses of modern life. Like EA’s new-found approach to gaming, Redwood Shores is a fantasy. ...
